It just hit me, perhaps the same thing has occurred to y'all.

With the admin of the biz @ 16OO beginning NICS checks on ALL privately held arms once seized (or even stolen and recovered) it could go like this: You attend some local school board meeting, city council meeting, commissioners court meeting, etc. - all public meetings where one is entitled to peacefully and respectfully present one's objections or approval of some action before the public servants and because of something you said, or the passion you had about the topic you pop up on someone's radar. Then whomever took offense gets the ball rolling on 'check this one out, he/she may be thinking *bad* thoughts" (whatever *bad* thoughts might be, just not 'common sense thinking' or some such). Or it could be ANYTHING OR ANYONE. So an action is initiated to go seize someone's arms because "he/she just needs to be 'checked out' before *we* decide whether not they are 'mentally competent'" (and guess who decides what mentally competent means). HOWEVER under this dingle berry EO stuff now whomever this PRIVATE PROPERTY belongs to can be returned to the lawful owner, there must be a NICS check.

If you you don't hold it you don't own it. lol

I have to admit that's a pretty good plan for stealth confiscation.

More importantly, in self defense situations where the gun is fired. SOP is to seize the gun as evidence in case the DA decides to charge you with murder/agg assault/attempt and you go to trial, then they have the smoking gun so to speak.

Mind you, this can take 9 months to a year in some places. Look at the Zimmerman case, its been a year and he is just getting started. His gun is locked up in an evidence cage in Orlando right now.

Point being, whos to say "oh, you were in a violent altercation, you need to see a shrink (which they do). Oh, shrink says you arent handling the stress well, were going to put that in your (now mandatory under Obamacare and EO's) report."

"Hey, look, you failed the background check, sorry, cant have your gun back...oh and we may want to considering taking your other ones as well. Have fun trying to get them back over the next 2-3 years..."

ThAt is why if you ever find yourself at the moment of truth and you use your firearm

Make the one used is the only one present.

Do you have others? Yes. Where are they? In a secured area. Where is this secured area? Those firearms have nothing to do with what just took place.

Realize at this point you are pretty much effed so why make it easy on them?

Hell your unaccounted for side arms might be future leaverage.

Part of my prepping is to have my firearms situated that i can quickly wisk them away to someplace else if the situstion calls for it.

Big black duffel bags that can hold multiple boomsticks.

I remember when the Fed Goons showed up. They were pressing me hard as hell to find out thier CURRENT locaretion even though i promised i would be able to produce them in short order.

They even lied saying one of my guns was used in a crime and when i pressed him for the police report it quickly became " oh i dint have to show you anything"

Scary as hell but God was definately with me because i played my hand well and was able to slip through the cracks
