If you ever find yourself in Lucerne, Switzerland, go to the Glacier Museum. Their exhibit includes a large collection of photographs of Switzerland's glaciers receding over 100+ years. You know, a picture from 1872 and let's say, a picture from 2000 taken from the same location for comparison. Seeing all this, you get another perspective of Mother Earth's changes.

Probably way more profitable than documenting glaciers building, nowadays...

If you're willing to supply a steady salary I will do it for you,

We can make it profitable, I have a list.

I don't know, sounds kind of expensive, what are your needs? Are there many growing glaciers in Costa Rica, which you can start with?

I'm close enough to both poles, its easy.

1/2oz. of gold every week + travel expenses is enough for a dude like me, taxfree of course.

Either that, or two chicks at the same time.

How about if we relocate you to a place where glaciers are guaranteed to grow? I am thinking northwest Greenland between mid September to mid April. I don't think a charming man such as yourself would have any problem picking up a couple of nice Eskimo women in Thule to keep you warm if weather would become a bit chilly. I'll throw in a fishing tackle and a hunting bow, and a handbook on how to build a seaworthy kayak, extracting lamp oil, making boots, carving chess pieces, out of sealion cadavers, apart from a Kennedy half dollar (90%) a week. You have to make it to Greenland on your own, but I'll come and pick you up when waters are free of ice probably in mid July or a bit later. If you don't decide to stay on for another season of documenting glacier growth of course...

Think about it, it will be FUN! I would do it myself, but I am, errrh, busy with, errrh, other things...

I'll go anywhere but Turkey, large mooslim populations scare the hell up out of me.

Was thinking a large deployment of heavy tripods and long egg timers would do the trick, this will Not be an overnight miracle.

So keep your result expectations bottled for at least a decade.

Well that's the benefit of going well north of the polar circle, since the mooslims are not allowed to eat anything during the month of Ramadan during sunlight, and Ramadan occurs about every 35 years around midsummer, so it has a natural culling capacity above the polar circles, no food and drink for a month, I've heard about Hindu gurus doing that, but never scary mooslims. Of course now it's been around 30 years since that happened last on the northern hemisphere, so I can't guarantee that a large mooslim population hasn't been imported and bred on Greenland, but they tend to be a bit cold sensitive also, so I doubt it.

As far as results I don't have any great expectations in short or medium term, come to think of it not in the long term either, I don't expect you to take down the moon for half a silver dollar a week. But I would expect the glaciers of Greenland to grow visually between September to April. Maybe you could take a before and after picture to document that?

We need to get clear on our projections firstly, attention to details along with a marketable vision for a future full of divestitures.

Indeed! Is there a particular hunting bow or fishing tackle you would prefer?

Mad max? Fact is that a classmate of mine, 25 years ago when I was studying mechanical engineering, told me about when he was living on Greenland as a child, his dad worked as a helicopter pilot. He told me that in the beginning of the month, when the Eskimos got paid, they got drunk, and they started shooting, partly through their house, so he had to lie on the floor, to avoid getting shot... I think a sawed off shot gun, may be a good choice, for fishing, polar bears, and Eskimo style mad max, but I am getting worried about the budget...

Beans, beans, beans,

Is that the pinnacle existence for humankind (until the Earth melts, or freezes), bean counting?

Give me Efficiency, or give me death! I can use the leftover barrel piece to form some sort of rudimentary ice pick & walking stick.

You are right of course! Maybe we should invite a philanthropist to finance the expedition? Soros perhaps?
