(CNSNews.com)– In a final regulation (http://www.irs.gov/PUP/newsroom/REG-148500-12%20FR.pdf) issued Wednesday, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) assumed that under Obamacare the cheapest health insurance plan available in 2016 for a family will cost $20,000 for the year.
Under Obamacare, Americans will be required to buy health insurance or pay a penalty to the IRS.
The IRS's assumption that the cheapest plan for family will cost $20,000 per year is found in examples the IRS gives to help people understand how to calculate the penalty they will need to pay the government if they do not buy a mandated health plan.
The examples point to families of four and families of five, both of which the IRS expects in its assumptions to pay a minimum of $20,000 per year for a bronze plan.
“The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000,” the regulation says.
Bronze will be the lowest tier health-insurance plan available under Obamacare--after Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Under the law, the penalty for not buying health insurance is supposed to be capped at either the annual average Bronze premium, 2.5 percent of taxable income, or $2,085.00 per family in 2016.
In the new final rules published Wednesday, IRS set in law the rules for implementing the penalty Americans must pay if they fail to obey Obamacare's mandate to buy insurance.
To help illustrate these rules, the IRS presented examples of different situations families might find themselves in.
In the examples, the IRS assumes that families of five who are uninsured would need to pay an average of $20,000 per year to purchase a Bronze plan in 2016.
Using the conditions laid out in the regulations, the IRS calculates that a family earning $120,000 per year that did not buy insurance would need to pay a "penalty" (a word the IRS still uses despite the Supreme Court ruling that it is in fact a "tax") of $2,400 in 2016.
For those wondering how clear the IRS's clarifications of this new "penalty" rule are, here is one of the actual examples the IRS gives:
“Example 3. Family without minimum essential coverage.
"(i) In 2016, Taxpayers H and J are married and file a joint return. H and J have three children: K, age 21, L, age 15, and M, age 10. No member of the family has minimum essential coverage for any month in 2016. H and J’s household income is $120,000. H and J’s applicable filing threshold is $24,000. The annual national average bronze plan premium for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children) is $20,000.
"(ii) For each month in 2016, under paragraphs (b)(2)(ii) and (b)(2)(iii) of this section, the applicable dollar amount is $2,780 (($695 x 3 adults) + (($695/2) x 2 children)). Under paragraph (b)(2)(i) of this section, the flat dollar amount is $2,085 (the lesser of $2,780 and $2,085 ($695 x 3)). Under paragraph (b)(3) of this section, the excess income amount is $2,400 (($120,000 - $24,000) x 0.025). Therefore, under paragraph (b)(1) of this section, the monthly penalty amount is $200 (the greater of $173.75 ($2,085/12) or $200 ($2,400/12)).
"(iii) The sum of the monthly penalty amounts is $2,400 ($200 x 12). The sum of the monthly national average bronze plan premiums is $20,000 ($20,000/12 x 12). Therefore, under paragraph (a) of this section, the shared responsibility payment imposed on H and J for 2016 is $2,400 (the lesser of $2,400 or $20,000).”

When dealing in fiction don't you know the sky is the limit? When you don't know what $1 is then what does it matter if you have to spend a million of them? or a billion? or a tetratrillion?

We currently have blue shield it covers me and knothead and my foreman, $1460.00 a month, I am at $999.40 a month and he is at 460.80 a month,
$ 17,522.40 a year, $ 2000 deductible, at 80/20 .
I think this price is freaking ridiculous, I have no pre - existing conditions,
( no High BP, diabetes nothing,) none of us do, I am 46, she is 7 and the worker is 33 and we are all healthy. !!!!!!!!!!

So how is OSAMA going to bring the price down for us ?

yeah mandated health care is a joke. It pushes the price of care up and restricts what care you can have. In australia, our health insurance costs are far lower than in the US, but if you want the best cover you still have to pay maybe half the numbers zap suggested. Our wages are higher than you guys so I don't see how anyone over there can afford it at those prices. Ignoring the fact that health costs they charge have no relation to the cost of delivery IMO.

The worst part is they will give everyone a credit card type thing and then everyone will go for even the stupidest reasons, without hesitating and the costs will blow out even more. I'm guessing we (aussie govt) spend about half our budget on health costs (mostly for runny noses or people eating things they shouldn't). It's insane.

I honestly don't think it will ever get implemented. In the "best case" scenario, they had all the states working with fed.gov to setup the health insurance centers or whatever the hell they call them.

33 States have joined the ranks of not setting up the exchanges. The federal government was counting on them to spend the money, time, effort man power and resources to set them up. Yet over half of the states have given the fed a big fuck you and won't do it. Effectively meaning that in those 33 states obummy care isn't even enforceable.

Become your own doctor! If you don't know how this is a good place to start your education:
http://www.earthclinic.com/ailments.html

Stock up on the following. These are in order of importance in my personal opinion:

Apple Cider Vinegar: Best for indigestion, acid reflux, getting rid of sore throat, reduces migraines. Get in both liquid (http://www.amazon.com/Bragg-Apple-Cider-Vinegar-liquid/dp/B0006Z7NOK) form (Bragg's only), and capsule form (http://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-ultra-high-potency-apple-cider-vinegar-625-mg-180-caps). I keep this in my EDC at ALL times.
Oil of Oregano: Fights viruses/bacteria. Get in capsule form for convenience. I keep this in my EDC at ALL times.
Colloidal Silver/Ability to make Colloidal Silver: Fights bacteria, and a large list of things many of you already know.
Activated Charcoal: Removes toxins, poisons (snake bites, methanol, and so on), pharmaceuticals (which are poisons) from your body like a sponge (might be helpful to take before forced vaccination?), reduces gas/flatulence/unhappy stomach. I keep this in my EDC at ALL times.
Cod Liver Oil: Radically improves your overall health. This is the best of the "Omega 3, 6, 9". Fermented is the best (http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Butter-Fermented-Liver-Blend/dp/B002M06SMU), but Double Strength (http://www.swansonvitamins.com/swanson-premium-double-strength-cod-liver-oil-2500-iu-a-270-iu-d-500-sgels?otherSize=SW335) is okay too if you can't afford the good stuff.
Cayenne: Improves circulation, energy, sore throats, wounds/cuts, stops bleeding (mix powder with water to make a paste and apply.) Never EVER take on an empty stomach. Quality of cayenne better than quantity. I keep this in my EDC at ALL times.
Tumeric/Ginger Blend: I take these as a blend since they complement another. Helps reduce inflammation, indigestion.
Quercetin & Bromelain: Helps with breathing, reduces inflammation.
Chlorella (Broken Cell) or Spirulina: Improves overall health, protects you from radiation.
Olive Leaf Extract: Helps protect you from chemtrails, helps against viruses and fungi.
Melatonin: Sleeping aid. Don't take it daily though since it can get addictive.
Butterbur: Helps with breathing, reduces allergies, and migraines. I keep this in my EDC at ALL times.
Raw Honey: Reduces allergies, quick energy, emergency food that lasts forever.
Blackstrap Molasses: Good, safe source of iron. Best for women since it reduces menstruation pain/cramps/length. So less stress on the guys too, hehe.
Chaparral: Helps protect you from radiation.

I could probably make this list twice as long but these are some of my personal favorites I take a all the time and have researched extensively. Navigate the EarthClinic website to learn more.

sounds like a Jobs Plan designed to benefit a certain demographic category.

also integrates 'doctors' into the US police state, which is using Sandy Hook to tighten the noose.

50 years ago, America was a Great Nation - at least compared to today.

This is a massive wealth transfer program on many levels. Health care falls fully under the control of government bureaucracy. The 50% of the population that don't pay taxes will not pay for this coverage. They will get Medicaid or get subsidies. Medicaid will be effectively mainstreamed into the health care services the taxpayers pay for. So this amounts to a massive tax on the working middle class. It will also reward people for unhealthy lifestyles. Basically, if you work you will be a slave/drone for the state; because you will have no disposable income or any premium quality services from your hard work. Welcome to socialism: uniform mediocrity and misery to all (except the rich and powerful of course). Same as it ever was.

plenty of good doctors in Mexico & Canada - sidestepping Canada care. they do accept cash.

about $35 per appointment in both places.

of course, there's good doctors in the US too ... but i'm afraid there's enough bad doctors in the US that the burden of proof now falls on them to prove that they're not a bad doctor.

anybody know where i can sign up for "do it yourself" appendectomy & prostate removal classes - just in case ? maybe i can find a vet to help me.

Insurance is just another form of gambling.

I understand this view, but I do think there is real value in pooling risk for uncertainties. Outside of this massively distorted "healthcare" system we have, real market-driven insurance to protect from calamities such as freak accidents would be very valuable to have. I'd voluntarily pay into an insurance program like that, so that if, God forbid, my wife or I got into a horrible car wreck, we wouldn't be saddled with a million dollar debt.
