"Oh, but we're NOT going to be taking guns from anyone!"

I would of shouted, so it's all about revenue generation through fines correct??

They don't learn from history very well. The American Revolution was started by gun confiscation.

The American Revolution was started by gun confiscation.

Actually it was more centered on seizing lead ball and powder (something to be learned there for sure).

OR, The king could have signed a major contract with all lead ball and powder manufacturers to tie up the supply lines and make sure that civilian colonists were last on the list when it came to getting supplies

At that time it wasn't that difficult to procure lead ball and black powder, *anyone* with access to raw materials could produce either. OTOH, I don't know of any individual who can produce brass cases, primers, smokeless powder, and/or copper jacketed projectiles* from raw materials.

*I have heard of people who can use spent .22LR rounds to make .22 caliber projectiles

Wow, never heard of recycling .22 brass, I opted to just load up on the 550 count boxes.

When I read the article on the ammo supply situation, the first thing that came to mind was maybe the gov doesn't need so much ammo, maybe the idea was to just strip the supply out of the market for a year while they instigate FF attacks and pass laws against guns and ammo. I resist posting stuff like that because I don't want to be labeled a fear mongering conspiracy theorist but facts are facts - our supply lines have temporarily been choked.

Their purpose wasn't to make more .22LR ammo but to make .22 caliber projectiles for centerfire rounds.

Interesting, I guess it can be done with a drill press and primers
