================================================== ==

Scientists at the University of Southern California have found a way to turn off the neuron responsible for sensing cold in mice, and it could help humans who have extreme sensitivities to cold temperatures.

The neuron channel, called TRPM8, is responsible for sensing "normal cold responses in mammals," according to David McKenny, the neurobiologist responsible for the study, which was published in the Journal of Neuroscience Tuesday. By turning it off in mice, the animals turned "insensitive to cool and painfully cold temperatures" and "did not distinguish between cold and a preferred warm temperature." The mice were still able to feel warm temperatures and pain.

I find it preferable to dress appropriately rather than mess with my body chemistry. If you're always cold, try exercising more, eat better and drink plenty of water. They can use their meds like suppositories for all I care. People should be as willing to pursue natural and herbal therapies/treatments as they seem to be willing to choke back more chemicals. I only use doctors for diagnosis whenever possible. I handle my own treatments if I can...

Expect it in tap water soon, this will stop sheeple from revolting as they freeze to death, from lack of heating fuel...

Whiskey works just as well.

I suppose the mice will sit in a cold cage and freeze to death. Grant money well spent. /sarc

Sensing cold depends on your acclimation to it. In summer 40 degrees seems very cold, but when it is below zero and warms to 40 it feels like Tshirt weather. I've read that the original inhabitants of Patagonia wore no clothing and their bodies adjusted to different temperatures. It could be well below freezing and they would still be naked.

Needles to say they also failed to populate the rest of the planet.

They already found a drug to make people stop thinking intelligently. Take the test and see if you need more. In this random collection of letters, if you think you can read anything, call immediately for more flouride in your water.
