Love a sleeper. Would be cool to walk someone's dog with this.

Love the farm truck, that used to be my favorite until the super sleeper Nova. I had a few sleepers but the best was probably my fishbuster van. 1970 Ford window van, 2 tone faded paint with a 500 inch big chevy in it. Had to widen the center frame to get it in there, steering was more of a challenge. Never did manage to get the tires from spinning due to lack of suspension travel on a short wheelbase.

Can't find a pic right now, trust me it was a classic.

That steering wheel slack brought back some memory's, both the good and the bad (Butt clinching) of several vehicles in my past!

That novas engine was total kick ass!

That truck dragged its bumper when it took off...:)

I wonder if it was a production defect, or design flaw,

but it seems all 72' Novas have a slightly "out of level" front bumper that droops lower on the left hand side.

The 'twist' from acceleration even if a 6 cylinder will pull the right rear tire off the ground and force the left rear downward, that's why cars with 'posi' or (limited slip for younguns) pull holeshots the left rear puts a darker strap down. On no posi cars the right rear almost always spins. On that twist issue on older Detroit metal the frames were not really tied real tight, IE you could jack up any corner of the frame and only that corner would move up. So... if you constantly have twist force on the frame it will eventually conform to the stress thus a crooked front/read stance.

I could just be guessing though... lol

You just have to hope the tires will last 'til the next stoplight.

I looked around and found some photos of completely restored Novas, and they just didn't look like Novas without a drooping front bumper.

IMO they need that to be called Novas, they just don't look right without it.

This guy just left the front fender go down (if you check the hood line), I guess to compensate. :)

No man, just a bad body job. I was psycho in making things exact, much more than factory specs. this job is good. He might have had to deal with a fukt frame which is the norm. Beautiful car there although I like dual headlights.

My next runner will be something not wanted but my kindle. 67 Wildcat.

Sure we lose about 10% keeping it under the hood but what the fuck you want for a comfortable family car with a NA/496+ engine? Prob wont get great fuel economy though.

The muscle car era was an amazing time in history!
Open roads, lax laws, no cameras, drones, drag race all night long...you could even out-run the cops.

LOL EE , I knew 2 guys who had the Nova, My junk car wasn't the 68 or 69 SS Chevelle, no I got the 69 Oldsmobile CS, mom and dad did buy it for me, for 1000 dollars, I hated it for a minute, but was super lucky I got a car at all you saw it here at the ranch( my old yellow car), But it had a 351 Cleveland in it ... haha as a girl of 16 I drove the hell out of it and raced it more then once or twice. Oh the memories:) big smile here!

Edit to add; since me and my best friend could only hope to end up with 10 dollars on a Friday night, 5 dollars from her dad and 5 dollars from my mom, we would spend it this way, 2 dollars in gas so we could cruise Main st, 2.00 dollars for a pack of cigarettes, and if we drove down a certain street we could get 1 joint for 2.00, and a 3.00 six pack which I could buy at on the wrong side of town and have 1.00 left for a taco bell burrito which we split , before midnight.

Well, yousins honorable. As Vinny hea will tell you, that 69 Cutlass Supreme didn't exist, cuz everybody knows GM didin' make no 350 One Cleveland engine. That was a FORD engine you ohna. That cutlass came with the olds 350 Rocket V8. Not a bad block if ya dump the Rochester 2 barrel and put a dubble pumper and some isky cams in there. But no, you ronner, that couldn't have been Zap's car wit dat 351.

Had a chance to rebuild one of these when I was a kid, but everything was so damn hard to find I finally dumped it for a Chevelle that blew engine and gear oil everywhere.

In HS I had a '68 Dodge R/T (B body, same as the Roadrunner, GTX, Super Bee, and Charger) with a built 440 (~425 hp), 4-speed, 3.90 Detroit locker, radio, heater, power brakes (no power steering), i.e. a factory hot rod. Speedometer went to 160 and it would peg it. It would pass everything but the gas pump along with getting air under the front wheels. Took a Hemi with it one night (the Hemi driver failed to get traction).

Along with most everything else.

Straight line acceleration is fun, accelerating into turns is a lot more fun.

Marshmallow profile tires like that will make it handle like a mini van.
