They sell the "Solvent Trap (wink wink) Adapter". Someone could add a large washer and would basically have the same thing?
Of cource, that would be illegal without the tax stamp.

It might be a nice item to keep in your tool box along with a couple STP filters...in case you ever feel like trapping(cough)your solvent.
If society breaks down and goes Mad Max?...

The guy was not using the remington bullets like he claimed. If you go to the part where he put it on the rifle about the 2nd shot you hear the crack of the 22 breaking the sound barrier and that is the only one that could possibly be the regular remington. You would have heard the sonic crack of the bullet breaking the sound barrier with or without a suppressor when using regular ammo.

Then how was he aiming the handgun? Intuition?

Pure baloney. Sales pitch.

what is the thread on the oil filter & what is the thread on the handgun & rifle ?

for example -

Dodge Ram Cummins, oil filter = Fleetguard LF16035, thread = "Thread Size 1-16 UN-2B"
http://www.amazon.com/Fleetguard-LF16035-Filter-Cummins-Engines/dp/B001IXZOJU

Gun - e.g. .223, 1/2-28 thread.
http://www.surefire.com/socom556-rc.html

so the Adapter - to put the oil filter on the gun - would have 2 threads -

Gun end - 1/2-28 Female thread

Oil Filter end - 1-16 Male thread.

one final note - the adapter must have a hole drilled through the middle so as not to block the bullet :)

i wonder if those 2 thread sizes are available in brass or copper ?

then you would just need an intermediary adapter to mate up with the 1/2-28 & 1-16 fittings. solder it up - you're done !

if you sat at a gun show, with a box of the intermediary adapters, machined in brass or copper, and a demo sample of the 1/2-28 fitting & the 1-16 fitting ... so, nothing working, just educational ... what would the ATF do ?

this is a job for McMaster Carr, or maybe Grainger. or maybe Fastenal, but they're expensive.

I like the convenient solvent trap/flash hider for the AR, that they can't seem to keep in stock
