Why would I want to shut up my mind? I am the only interesting person that I can talk to.

I am often able to get to a place where my mind is quiet by meditation. It does not last long after the session though. I do remember a time when I meditated frequently and my mind was more focused and quieter during the rest of the day.

Same got into TM in the early 70's and it works for me, I still at least one a week or more meditate when I can. Have skipped doing it several times in the past but always return to it, because it does works for me.

Helps balance me out!
