Will be visiting my wife's family soon...all 47 of them (not counting cousins).

Will also be looking at some real estate.

The nice thing about the PI is that even when the SHTF here they won't even blink an eye.

The hardest thing I have ever dealt with there is the humidity and the warm beer.

I can probably get used to the humidity but I will F'n snap if I gotta drink more warm beer this trip.

Seriously though, I think its a great place to move to if you had to.

They speak English, signs are in English and they love white skin.

My white legs are legendary there. They can't be looked at directly without sunglasses on but for those that do wear sunglasses there, they do get a nice treat.

So anyone with some traveling experience...pros and cons compared to other countries? Many like Panama...I sat PI is better.

Will you have to sneek in your armaments? How will you protect yourself?

The Phil was an enlightening experience for me. Traffic is total chaos and out in the outskirts of the big city it's a free for all. People literally put their life on the line if they walk in the roads. Jeepneys and taxis are okay, I would never attempt to drive there. Once they realize your Americano you can get setup for a cash extortion after they drive into your car. If you miss your Americano types you can always go to the basement of SM where you will find dozens shopping for their Filipino women. Buy a whole wardrobe for under 50 bux.

The food is great and there is always someone cooking on the side of the road, either in the city or country. I am not a big fan of fish, I mean fry me up some beer battered stuff and I'm good. Warm beer is fine if you chase it with vodka ;-] especially hanging out eating Licheon. The english is okay but if not in a public area they wont use it much, that bugged me the most. Never know what they are talking about.

Long as your wife doesn't become a US citizen you can buy land and build there. Watch the areas though as you are an automatic target for robbery, you can have guns inside your house but can't bring them outside. Good luck and have fun, you can stay 29 days (I believe) without paying for an extension.

Eye candy everywhere I don't care who you are. Everyone is shorter than me so going to the mall to cool down is like driving above everyone, lol. Besides canadia the phil is the only place I went. We got some killer deals on hotels, sent in the misses to get the rates and booked it. There is no set standard, just matters how you look. Americano gets charged double, Saudis get 4x. They get you with internet and by all means don't have to call your credit card company, they charged me 1.5x the room rate for 1 call to open the card back up for a 10 minute call. Even though I notified them before the trip they shut it off anyways.

The flight from CA is okay but anywhere else it is a long ass brutal flight. Starting at 18 hours + connecting in Japan.

I go to Palawan every year and love it.
