This is amazing. NO, its not amazing that this guy actually walked down the street with his AK47 openly (It is legal in his state). But what is amazing is what the Cops say to this guy. I mean WOW.

Cop - "Its my job to lecture you! Yes it is legal for you, but i dont care, i am going to come out here every time!"

I had to take a deep breathe and sit for 10 minutes to come back from my anger after watching this. Seriously.

Haven't watched the vid, cant right now, but some general thoughts:

He may get shut down for doing what he's doing, but it's still good to exercise your rights even if that's the case.

It's just like a muscle: the more you exercise them, the stronger they will get.

The thing people don't realize is that it's not enough to know something is ok, legal, and a right. That information is correct. But if other people don't also know that you know those things then it's no longer commonly accepted. For example, if 70% of the people understand that open carry is ok, but they don't know that everyone else knows that, then if only a couple people complain and the right is suppressed no one will do anything.

But when you open carry in public, other people know that you know that it's ok. So the information people have hasn't changed, but the state of that information has changed. This is how exercising rights strengthens them.

The cops actually treated that guy very well. They respected his rights. This guy was fishing for a fight, and the cops wouldn't bite.

Something few folks understand. Cops don't have a choice, when they are called, they have to show up. They have to at least check it out. The one time they don't....well, the liability falls on them.

These cops showed up, talked to the guy. Treated him respectfully, and that was it. The cops were called. They did the right thing, did not treat this guy poorly in any way. Did not infringe on his rights.

I don't understand why folks can not see that.

This is no time to show how "macho man" you are......there is a time to be macho and a time to play it safe.

It's not illegal to be a dick...but sometimes people just need to be dicks.

Yeah, he's totally within his rights to open carry, but he wants to cause a ruckus. He got it. Good for him.

"Beat It"

[1st Verse]
They Told Him Don't You Ever Come Around Here
Don't Wanna See Your Face, You Better Disappear
The Fire's In Their Eyes And Their Words Are Really Clear
So Beat It, Just Beat It

[2nd Verse]
You Better Run, You Better Do What You Can
Don't Wanna See No Blood, Don't Be A Macho Man
You Wanna Be Tough, Better Do What You Can
So Beat It, But You Wanna Be Bad

[Chorus]
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It
Just Beat It, Beat It

[3rd Verse]
They're Out To Get You, Better Leave While You Can
Don't Wanna Be A Boy, You Wanna Be A Man
You Wanna Stay Alive, Better Do What You Can
So Beat It, Just Beat It

[4th Verse]
You Have To Show Them That You're Really Not Scared
You're Playin' With Your Life, This Ain't No Truth Or Dare
They'll Kick You, Then They Beat You,
Then They'll Tell You It's Fair
So Beat It, But You Wanna Be Bad

[Chorus]
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right

[Chorus]
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It

[Chorus]
Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right

[Chorus]
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Who's Right

[Chorus]
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right

[Chorus]
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It

And at the same time, those cops are thinking "my beat is going to hell, and I get called out for this BS."

There are a lot of similar videos around, but one thing I have never seen is the guy with the gun asking the cop if he , the cop, would talk to the person who made the complaint.

That could be a good learning experience for the person who made the complaint and for the cop.

What did Johnny Cash say about bringing your guns to town?

Don't think the guy has much tact , but I would fight to the death so this guy can act like this. The cops did what they could and nothing more good to see they are getting the idea.
On the same token if I saw somebody level a pee shooter like that anywhere but the range or shtf I would drop them in a heartbeat. I Don't bring my mbr unless I got a purpose and it seems like this guy knows how to carry so no harm done. Nothing to see here people

Unless he's a maniac.

Responsible gun owners should act just that, responsibly. Not try and be the biggest swinging dick at the party.

There IS harm done if folks nearby get scared, and hide their children. When guns scare innocent people, and take their rights away by fear, yes guns are a problem.

If I see some guy walking down the street with an AK. Yes, I'll load my guns and be prepared he's a threat. That's the bottom line. There's a lot of turds out there. We own guns, to keep the wolves away.

poorly worded on my part. I meant only that this guy was trying to get the cops to show up and didn't appear threatening when the cops did show. I would shit a brick if I saw a guy with an ak walking down the street. I wouldn't keep driving

Out back where people walk around every day with arms it is different. The first time I witnessed it I felt a bit like I was at their mercy. After that I would drive bye and wave and shit... as I had a multiple supply of arms at my reach.

Since dogman gave you the "thanks", it was probably him. I absorootly do not resemble that remark!

But like sirgonzo420, I could almost see someone on the forum doing something like this.

I'd arrest him for walking with and not against traffic. :)
