2003 Yamaha Wolverine 350 4x4
They're a Sport-Utility cross, 1st gear is ultra low high torque, the other gears are geared high and sporty. Really fast, Faster then a 600 Polaris Utility I've ridden and compared with.

Gave $1500 for the blue one and $1650 for the black one.

Thanks for letting me brag! Its nice having paid off the debts (except mortgage...which will be next...only $80K to go on it!)

The guy I bought one off of said he needed the money for a down payment on a side x side. He said the bank wouldn't give him a 100% loan on one and wanted 10% down. The blue one. He had it listed in the classifieds for $2500, after negotiation I got it for $1500.

The other guy, with the black one, had a side x side and 6 4 wheelers in his garage. He mentioned that he was ATV poor and needed money to make payments on the side x side and that his daughter needed a car because she was 15 now. He had 4 of the ATVs for sale. He had it listed at $2200 in the classifieds and I was able to get it for $1650. It has better tires so I was willing at pay a little more. A new set of tires will cost me $300 at least.

People desperate to sell, the blue guy seemed more desperate then the black guy to me. Both were willing to come down significantly on their asking prices. I started negotiations at $1400 on each one and those numbers above are where we settled.

Friend has dial up internet so posting anything isnt easy, but could have satellite internet with voip phone if staying here long term.

Raining today so have the day off from hard work.

Aha I lived in a house like that in England once, it was 60 feet deep and about 10 feet wide, two floors with a stair in the middle. I must say I got a better appreciation of space after that experience...

It is hard to describe how it feel when one gets to the point that they do not "owe" any sob anything, except for normal utility bills and the dam taxes that we use to "rent" our property from the state.

The weight off the shoulders is tremendous.

Big Country in some ways I agree with Blink in regards of paying off your last major debt vs toys, but those are mighty fine looking toys that I am sure will see heavy use.

But again knowing that I do not "owe" a dam cent when it comes to any payments except as said before, utility's and the blood money taxes most are required so you can say that is "My" property.

Congrats on the mile marker, and hope that you can become totally debt free soon.

I would describe the debt free feeling as ,phew done ,what a relief and then after that you feel normal as opposed to burdened.

Yeah, I suppose it does. I speak from the position of "no more debts". Mortgage is paid, no cc debt or loans. The peace of mind this gives is liberating. My work knows that if they push me too hard (treat me like a slave), I'll just leave and not look back. At this point I could be a barista at Starbucks and pay the bills. As it is, I took the first two days of this week off because I didn't feel like working. Btw, I don't walk in your shoes and if you do have a farm, then those would probably make life easier. Enjoy the toys (tools) and pay that mortgage off as quickly as you can............

Good for you BG.....

btw, I'm more jealous of where you live than your financial situation. :)

Good luck!

Kick me Sally, but investing in depreciating toys seems a bit silly. Have fun selling them later when you actually need something. I can see if you are are a rancher needing one. Mayhaps I mistake you for not yet a rancher type. My bad.

You can't always worry about that stuff. Life is to damn short, you need to have some fun once and a while. Don't blow all your money but for sure enjoy it while you still have life left in your body.

Absolutely people should be having fun. Life is way too short.
I happened to catch a TV show "Doomsday Preppers" last night...I can't imagine living in fear everyday of your life like some of these people.
Once you have most of your bases covered, you should be grabbing all the life you can.

Gusto my friend, do it with Gusto! Go for the brass ring living your life with as much gusto as it can. Once all of the bases are covered.

Living in fear, looking over one's shoulder all the time is in many ways a fairly miserable way to live.

I travel between 3 countries basically . Let me know when you are going to Palawan ,I am usually there around oct/nov , could explore the possibilities of doing this there(the course you may do), I know a Canadian yoga teacher who moved from Thailand to Palawan after spending 20 years in Thailand. He said the Thais never completely accept you even after 20 yrs there .....he likes Palawan.

I'm not a rancher in the sense of having cattle. I would consider myself something of a farmer though. My place is classified for farm taxes yearly and I have to show proof of $1000 in agricultural product produced from my land to get that (cuts yearly property taxes from $700 to $150). Last year I produced $1300 in product ($1050 in hay, and $250 in honey/bee by-products). This year I'm hoping to produce $2000+ and keep raising it.

I raise chickens and sell eggs wholesale to a neighbor that markets them at a farmers market (I have a gauranteed buyer and I don't have to market them myself), same with honey and wax. I sell my hay to the man that cuts it for me his fee for cutting is 2/3rd's of the hay, and I sell my 1/3rd share for $3.00/bale to him. I'm just getting started at this, I work full-time so its mostly a side thing. This is my retirement plan. I need to learn, You can't just become a farmer its like any other learned skill -- call it a prep if you will.

The 4 wheelers will be used for farm work, they will also be used for fun. I spent the last 4 years "prepping", buying Gold/Silver, and paying off my cars and student loans. Every now an then you have to just buy something for yourself. I do NOT consider these an "investment" that would be rediculous. They were mostly my celebration/award to myself for being focused for 4 years.

I'm going to fix everything I can on them on my own, learn to be a better mechanic. I cannot do that very well with my car, I can't leave it in parts for a month while I'm working on it trying to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it. I need it to get to work. This, I dont NEED it running...I can learn with it.
