Astronaut Mark Kelly (husband of Gabriel Giffords) Dog Attacks Seal
Laguna Beach, CA - Goff Cove.
Dog jumped down from above to attack a baby seal and locked onto its neck. Women are attempting to hit the dog with a piece of seaweed and pull the seal out of the it's jaws.
Former astronaut Mark Kelly, the husband of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, was seen attempting to handle his daughter's dog as it attacked a sea lion at an exclusive resort in Laguna Beach Saturday.
The attached video shows Kelly's screaming daughter and two other women trying to pull her dog away from the sea lion, but were unsuccessful.
Kelly finally stepped in and was able to wrestle the animal free. The sea lion died shortly after the incident.
The local Animal Control said that the attack was unfortunate, but not intentional.
The dog broke from its leash and no laws were broken, police said.

He should be in jaii for abetting a DHS/FEMA mass shooting fraud. His wife was never shot at the Tucson media event. And he goes along with the fraud.

Diamondback Police Supply owner Douglas MacKinlay has halted Mark Kelly's attempted purchase of an AR-15 over concerns that Kelly was not in fact buying the gun for himself, and therefore could not have passed question 11a of the NICS background check form 4473.
You'll recall Kelly's AR-15 had been on hold for 20 days because it was trade-in firearm, and during those 20 days Kelly has not been shy about the fact that his plan was to buy the gun and give it to someone else all along.
Gun store owner Doug MacKinlay has now released this statement:
While I support and respect Mark Kelly's 2nd Amendment rights to purchase, possess, and use firearms in a safe and responsible way, his recent statements to the media make it clear that his intent in purchasing the Sig Sauer 5.56mm rifle was for reasons other than his own personal use.
A refund of the purchase price was sent to Mark Kelly "via express mail" on Thursday of last week.

I'd be shocked if that wasn't a violation of some federal and/or state law. Who reported it? Did he? I'll bet he didn't. SO his dog kills a pup and then he walks away?

Most sea lion types are protected by Federal law, e.g. http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/pr/species/mammals/pinnipeds/californiasealion.htm .
If you or I did it, we would be charged.

NEWPORT BEACH, California (AP) -- A fisherman accused of stabbing a sea lion with a steak knife after the animal stole his bait has been arrested.
The sea lion, a six-foot female weighing about 150 pounds, was stabbed in the heart and was euthanized, said Dean Gomersall, animal care supervisor at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach.
"It's a horrible thing," Gomersall said. "My crew is extremely upset, and we're just glad the person was caught."
Hai Nguyen, 24, was fishing off a Newport pier about 12:30 p.m. Friday when the sea lion snatched the bait from his fishing pole.
"It was close enough so he could just reach out and stab it in the water," said Sgt. Evan Sailor, a police spokesman. "A number of people witnessed it and called police."
Nguyen was arrested without incident at the pier and held at Newport Beach Jail on $20,000 bail. He was expected to be arraigned next week on a charge of felony cruelty to animals, authorities said.
The case also was being investigated by the U.S. attorney's office for possible federal charges under the Marine Mammal Protection Act.
Nguyen could face a $25,000 fine and up to a year in prison if convicted on the animal cruelty charge. A conviction on federal charges of violating the Marine Mammal Protection Act could add $12,000 in civil penalties, criminal fines of up to $20,000 and additional jail time, authorities said.
