The Internet hacking group said on its twitter page that it gained access to the personal data of more than 30,000 Israeli officials, including military officials, politicians and Mossad agents, and that it will release the information gradually.

just a spitball here, but I imagine this hacking biz is like any other, you don't wanna swamp it and destroy your market. Do it gradual like technology in order to keep yourself relevant.

I would also say, if gradual, then you can keep it in the realm rather than it getting back paged almost immediately.
