Easy way to get a gun unregistered I guess: buy a bunch of ammo then trade it for a gun.

You don't have a .22 yet?

Don't screw around with the Papoose*, get a 10/22 Takedown. Well worth the extra expense (when you can find them now). I've got one, the lockup is substantial and absolutely first rate.

*since 'the Freedom Group' investment banksters have taken over Marlin, have shut down the Marlin New Haven plant and moved Marlin production (aka Remlins and Marlingtons) to the Remington plant the quality of both have taken a very steep nosedive - I know of someone who handled and inspected a Remington rifle at the most recent Shot Show and he couldn't believe that they would present such a complete turd of a rifle (workmanship-wise) as a representative example of Remington products at the Shot Show

Nah. Get the 10/22-FS which comes from the factory with a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle for $329 retail.

Then get THIS (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Solvent-Trap-Oil-Filter-Thread-Adapter-1-2-28-/261146312501) for $20.

Then get THIS (http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/STP-Oil-Filter/_/N-8gcsg?itemIdentifier=63545_0_0_) for $8.
So you can do THIS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haiqFcIXTqs) when the government zombies come for your 10/22...lol.http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/wildonesgame/images/9/9e/Gun2.gif

Not only is it 'constructive intent' when you possess those two items along with a gun with a threaded muzzle, it's also very impractical since it's impossible to use the sights to aim it when that contraption is on the barrel.

GoD mentioned a Papoose most likely because of the ability to stuff it into a backpack, thus my suggestion to look into getting a 10/22 Takedown.

The papoose looks cool and seems to get good review. I bought a 10/22 takedown before all this gun/ammo drama happened. I really like it. It's stainless and perfect for the boat. $350 well spent. I second this recommendation.

Marlin (and Remington) will never be the same after the greedy moneychangers have thoroughly fucked it all up for everyone. I'd avoid ALL current production Remlins and Marlingtons at this point - no exceptions. Besides, the Papoose wasn't all that spectacular even before the greedy moneychangers fucked up everything. You certainly can't mod out a Papoose like you can a 10/22 and there are no high capacity mags for the Papoose.

I remember your advise on this regarding my 45-70 guide gun. I was very glad to see the JM stamp on the barrel. I didn't know this when I bought the gun, but feel lucky to have one of the last production true Marlins. It's a great gun, I am grateful to have it.

That is an awesome collection of Unicorns ximmy, would you consider trading them for some .22 ammo?

I recently bought a 10/22 breakdown in stainless. I put a hologram scope on it and once dialed in it is a tack driver. The only issue is I have experienced several fail to eject issues using Remington high velocity "yellow jacket" ammunition. It's easy to clear, but makes me wonder if there is an issue. I have only fired one box of ammo through it so far and haven't tried other brands at this point.

I won't buy or use any Remington rimfire ammo due to this quality control issue.

Exactly which sight do you put on it? The EOTech rimfire sight?
