Use the gram setting, thats all I do. Then I don't have to worry about whether its AV or troy........ The world deals mostly in the metric system anyways. Regardless, good to know for the newbies.

I'd try a check-weight. Plus, most scales are set to avoirdupois ounces and PM's are in Troy
