On reading this material I can now understand in part the reasons for the (un)civil war. Anyone who would drink this crap would not be able to make rational decisions.

sounds like many a bourbon available in stores today. We have a cheap one down here called "Bullet Bourbon". I think that says all that needs to be said. Anything that gives you a hangover as you are drinking it has got to be good, no?
