Apparently it doesn't matter to the anti-gun zealots they have no idea about the operation of the weapons they seek to ban. The leading proponent (http://www.isthatbaloney.com/oblivious-colorado-rep-diana-degette-once-ammo-magazines-are-used-there-wont-be-any-more-available/)of the high capacity magazine ban in Congress was under the assumption once a magazine was emptied of its bullets, it could no longer be used and was thrown away. And right after the Sandy Hook massacre, NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg was under the assumption that assault weapons in general were all automatic (see him say it towards the end of the video below).
Now, in a speech (http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2013/04/04/remarks-president-dccc-event-san-francisco-ca) given in San Francisco this past week, President Obama has come out and said that Adam Lanza used a "fully automatic weapon" in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown Connecticut last December. Another convent lie has crossed the lips of Barack Obama in his shameful jaunt around the nation once again trying to ban "weapons of war." Even though Obama's comments were classified as a "misspeak" by the White House it will most certainly serve the President's agenda of demonizing a very common firearm used by millions of people across the country. Because of the President's misspeak, it will bolster the liberal view that "assault weapons" should be banned because they are "weapons of war." They are not.
Never mind that much of what the left anti-gun lobby purposely puts out about the evils of guns is false and ginned up statistics, the President, especially the President, owes it to the American public to actually know what he is talking about. It is his responsibility to put out truthful information and not mislead the public into believing something that isn't true. But that isn't what he is doing. While Barack Obama constantly derides "certain elements" of working people into a frenzy, worrying them that he wants to take their guns away, he does not help his cause at all by putting forth patently false information.
Here is what the President said in San Francisco this week:
"Now, over the next couple of months, we’ve got a couple of issues: gun control. I just came from Denver, where the issue of gun violence is something that has haunted families for way too long, and it is possible for us to create common-sense gun safety measures that respect the traditions of gun ownership in this country and hunters and sportsmen, but also make sure that we don’t have another 20 children in a classroom gunned down by a semiautomatic weapon -- by a fully automatic weapon in that case, sadly."
Watch the video below and see what CNN's Jake Tapper has to say about Obama's false statement on the weapon Adam Lanza used.
