TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — Tupelo's police chief said Everett Dutschke is under arrest in connection wth the ricin letters sent to President Obama, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker and Lee County Justice Court Judge Sadie Holland.
Chief Tony Carleton said Dutschke was arrested around 1 a.m. Saturday by the FBI and turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service. There's no word on what the charges against him will be.
A law enforcement source told WTVA Dutschke is being held in the Lafayette County Detention Center. The source added that any appearance by the defendant in U.S. District Court would not happen until Monday.
Dutschke's Tupelo home was searched Tuesday after his name was brought up during a preliminary hearing for Kevin Curtis.
Curtis was originally charged in the case, but the charge against him was later dropped.
