Something small that no one mentions is a stick of HOT GLUE......I use it all the time for just about everything, you can quick repair ponchos, tents, shoes, glasses, gloves, back packs, holes in a canteen and a lot more......for me it is specialy handy when I am working on one of my ideas and I am putting something together and then taking them apart.

Awesome graphic. Thanks.
Also, shoogoo is something I like to have on me. Rubber to repair leaks, holes, shoes, and lots of other stuff.
I have three levels of go bags. One is my everyday carry bag to office and back.
Then I have my bag of tools that would look weird carrying around every day.
Then I have my large first aid bag.
Fun fun lots of fun!

Always carry your hand gun, water, knife and a very small bag attached directly to your pants belt.....the reason for this is that in a emergency you can drop your back pack, rifle and others and run like hell with what you have on your belt.

I prefer the Henry Survival Rifle I got for 178 bucks a few years ago. Pretty accurate for a lightweight.

I carry a large water proof duffel bag in my truck that can also be carried like a back pack. Since I have a wife and 3 kids I pack a little more. I have most of the items listed in the pictorial and a few that aren't. I also have the SOG multi-tool as I feel it is the best, a few large garbage bags that could be used as rain gear if necessary, a cold steel shovel, candles, a 500 lumen rechargable flashlight, a small fiskars axe, a bow saw, 12 self heating MRE's, and a couple large fleece blankets. I have a large first aid kit and a tool kit (with recovery strap, booster cables, flat repair goop, as well as most tools for minor repairs) in the truck as well.
I wouldn't be able to carry everything by myself and would have to pare down to essentials if I was alone. But if I had family with me we could split the load somewhat, minus the tools if we had to walk.

good stuff, thanks TT
Like you, I always find myself tinkering with mine as well
glad to see carmex, never see it in BOB lists. I think I'd go crazy with chapped lips for more than a day or two haha

Careful GoD
If i read that correctly i think Condor is the maker of the Physical bag
I purchased one online in less then 24 hours i sent it back demanding my money
They use the cheapest materials and stichiting.
Unless they change i would avoid them like the plauge
If you dont care for 5.11 Gear
Go with something from vodoo tactical

TT I got the bag probably about 2 years ago or maybe even longer but everything is pretty good quality, I wonder if they've gone down hill.

If people would like I can open mine up and show everything that's in it. If you get a good back pack you just build from there.

A bug-out bag should be called a refugee bag.
To me a 'get home bag' makes more sense. I see no upside to being a refugee.
I made the acquaintance with a woman who showed me everything in her own get home bag - I'm 100% confident that she had a range of no less than 100+ miles with her set-up (in her local terrain), although I have to wonder about her choice of carrying her Mforgery (kinda high profile while her pack was totally urban friendly, i.e. gray/black and no camo)

Actually mine is a get home bag. That's why it's with me all the time.
