It's the angle of the camera, light etc. I'm not the best photographer. Here is another pic. It's actually very nice.

It really is a beautiful coin, too bad all of our coins today have ugly mugs of dirty politicians on them, instead of the graceful lady liberty.

Notice I used an asterix on the back of the GIM rounds to invert the star & blow everything out of proportion also.
