Great presentation on embracing collectivism while not directly mentioning the concept.

It is amazing to see the obvious ploy being used. Are people that dumb that they can't see this? The blatant lies of this devil are astounding.

"Your whole life you've been warned about the dangers of government, how tyranny is right around the corner"
What a load of bullcrap. Anyone who attended a public school was taught exactly the opposite, how good the government is at taking care of us.

"WE" is an abstraction that cannot be defined, yet its importance and pervasiveness in society is increasing...indeed I believe it may have reached a critical mass, which is why he can make speeches like this and be seriously listened to.
I don't know that I ever expected to observe oligarchical collectivism, and the doublethink that it requires to exist, in real time.
Fascinating.

I've noticed a trend in advertising recently - where the narrator at the end of the spot makes a call for action which includes either "us" (as in "let's") or "we".

I really like many of the various TED talks, but I always cringe when "us" or "we" is continually mentioned over and over. In every single one. I know they mean well and many have good ideas, but this thinking is pervasive.

For a while there the prevailing meme was "safety", "protection" and "security" (I'm sure it's still running in parallel)... seemed every product or service offered protection and security, regardless of what it was.
Apparently, body odor became a "threat", and a certain brand of deodorant offers 24 hours of protection.

In a democracy, there are no individuals, there are no citizens, there is only government, and we are all it.

Tyranny comes in all forms, and a majority is just as dangerous as some despot.
