Someone will know this. I am trying to recall the name of the handbook/pocketbook that contains all the forumlas and common knowledge you need for most things. Formulas, constants, technical and technique knowledge.

I've seen the guys on Mythbusters use it for reference. Can someone poke me in the memory please. thanks

It's a good book if you're looking for how to properly beat your slaves or how to put your child to death for disobeying you.

How about the koran? or the talmud? :D

Actually, the Bible is an essential book, but certainly does not contain everything of practical use.

Only 3 ? ;D

I love having a good pdf version I can search quickly of some of the ones I have.

Right now on my desk I have, 4 POCKETS

Some of the coolest hard cover 3.5x4.5 around,

Gieck Engineering Formulas

Butler Architectural and Engineering Calculations Manual

Traister Machinest's Ready Reference Manual

Pasahow Electronics Ready Reference Manual

on my shelf to complement I have

Law For Professional Engineers

Ethics and the Practice of Law

Professional Engineering Practice, Ethical Aspects

+ whole shelf of related , reference manuals you can't carry around

It is a dam shame one of the best engineers around and one of my best
friends on here was harassed to death off this forum by faggit Jew Trolls and their supporters.

Probably the most useless people anywhere that would not know what to do with any of these manuals.

The funny part is I am not even a practicing engineer, but in sales to keep it simple. LOL !

Thanks TT, I think that is the one I was chasing. I'll see if I can hunt one down. Maybe our hardware stores might stock it although I've never seen it there, I haven't really been looking for books.

then there are these other ones you guys have suggested. Some good ones there. I think I will have to hunt some of them down as well.

I found a PDF of Henley's 20th Century Forumlas which sounds pretty handy to have.
http://archive.org/details/henleystwentieth00hiscrich

Sizable download though. I'll add it to my library, in the sas survival, animal husbandry for farmers, how to make stuff from scratch section.

Sequoia publish the pocket ref and a few others: http://www.sequoiapublishing.com/

They even have a pocket partner for police and firemen it seems.

Well on Sui Juris's exciting news I decided to pull finger and get myself one. I actually bought 5, 2 for me, 1 for a colleague and 2 for brownie point scoring.

Steep prices in Australia as usual. I'd like to support local but...

So anyone looking online, Amazon of course. I see they also have a Tradies Reference book. I wouldn't mind one of those too.

I actually purchased from bookdepository.co.uk as I'm told all the coolsmart people are buying their books from there and I desparately need some coolsmart.

Price was a shade under $12 ea. free ship to my home town.

My Pocket Refs (5) arrived today. Mighty quick from the UK I have to say. So very interesting little book. Somethings like:
how to wire up a trailer, 6 or 7 wire, how to tie knots, composition of air, density of gases, Ph ranges of various elements, gasses etc, fastners and fixing sizes, torque settings, battery codes, health, first aid, CPR guide, US state codes, car rental toll free numbers, sound, life expectancy by age, content of minerals, saw blade types, conversion formulas, sheet metal guages, metal tube cross sections, how to work metal, tempering, tipping for service pay scale, international wiring electrical guides.

Thanks to everyone. Ask a question, get a pronto result. nicely done.
