ah cap guns. I think they banned them down here. The strip type ones. I think you can still get the little plastic cup ones still.

I love the get up there. Fancy duds Roys wearing. I thought that was only on the teevee until I wents to a rodeo.

Krap!

I remember that and wanted one back in the day. His show and all other westerns, at the time was a must see for us kids at the time.

Who remembers Sky King...

I have a .22 two shot pocket gun that looks exactly like that one that goes with me as a daily carry.

I don't think we had much roy rogers although he might have been a few years before my time. My Gran new of Roy and Little Annie and a couple others. Maybe they were in the cinema and not the teev. Cisco Kid, Lone Ranger were the ones I grew up with.

He was big here in the 50's and early 60's..most male kids had their noses stuck to the tv when his show was on, Plus the whole family.

Roy was a little before my time, but we only had 3 channels, 8, 11 and 46 and we actually had to physically get up to change the channel. :)

Yep, and the kid.. kids were the channel changers.. ;D

I remember the magic of the first color tv that had a remote..It was a clicker..It used tuning forks (sound) to control the tv. Key rings would raise hell with the tv.

Hell I remember the first national broadcast from satellites and that was when most programming was black and white.

All tube driven...with a tad of solid state if you had a color tv..

EVERY store had a tube tester!

I learned electronics from my grandfather, he did two jobs , his day job was working for the Texas company (Texaco) and as a tv/radio repairman (owner). the shop was an add on to the house at the time and I helped him and learned from him.

Got my first amateur (Ham) license when I was 13-14 .. Think 1964-6

Sorry for rambling...

Edit:

Who remembers

Echo 1 and 2 ?

Warning this is semi old fart territory , young buck need not apply.

And we used to take our Roy Rogers cap pistols to school to play with at recess. TV? I listened to him and Gene Autry on the radio.

That is a 1997 Harley-Davidson FLHRI Road King. I am still riding it. It has about 75,000 miles on. The predecesor was a 1987 FLT Tour Glide. I put 187,000 miles on her without an overhaul. I had to put a crankshaft in this one two years ago. Also it uses a little oil. The 1987 never needed oil between oil changes.

Shit mon!

Question are you still an old fart in training or full fledged? Somewhere methinks is one of my old scoots that I still hold the title to that bike that probably is scattered (peaces) 1980 low rider. Some one liked it so much they stole it from me... I have not rode a scoot in many a moon, but good for you 71 is the new 30 ;D LMFAO ...

It was bad back when I was hard headed and rode my bikes 24/7/365 come hell and high water, people doing the left turn in front of you..I had idiots that we locked eyes while they were turning and later as I put dents into there ass's and sheet metal, said they did not see me.. If you are a rider you know exactly what I am talking about..

I'm looking around for another bike. Not a Harley, though. Can't pick the bitch up if/when I dump it anymore. Maybe a dual sport/Enduro type. About the closest I've seen to a nice compromise is a Kawasaki KLR650, or a Susuki Vstrom. I've had the big cruisers already. I want something that'll get me 'away' from traffic, into the dirt and woods and occasionally take the back roads to the coast. I don't know. Something real cheap.
