Officer ducks out of chase to save bird
In a scene reminiscent of the hipster TV satire Portlandia, an Portland police officer has put a car chase on hold to help a duck in trouble.
An Oregon officer guides a duck to safety rather than letting it fend for itself.
In the dash-cam video, released by Portland Police, Officer Mark James chases a speeding driver.
But, after being caught behind a duck, he aborts the chase to guide it to safety.
On social media, viewers have given Officer James the thumbs up, although one conspiracy theorist left a creative comment.
"What if the guy from that speeding car left ducks on road to distract the police car and run away? :D"
