Thought this was worth posting.
Its one of my bucket lists to do if I ever get to visit Germany.

The beginning of this video is awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGGSaGdGQS4
Those German helmets on the posts and tree trunks with MG machine guns barbed wired together and pointing out looks like an army I'd like to see come alive and fight once again....

If you don't get to Germany, visit a Patton training area in the Southwest. Even the hills behind the Patton Museum are far from being picked clean. The last time I poked around I found some eyeglasses, .45, .30 and .30-06 casings, a foot powder tin, several unfired .30-06 blanks, shrapnel and a potsherd from the Pinto People. I peeled the faded and wrinkled cardboard cap off one of the blanks and dumped the powder into a spoon. I lit it, and it was like tossing white gas on a campfire.

Ive been to Omaha, Juno, and gold beaches several times. Stuff still washes up everyday in the tide.
