This is getting interesting.
Gold:
Total Longs = 403,136
Total Shorts = 403,556
Silver:
Total Longs = 125,399
Total Shorts = 127,823
Getting very close. The ratios are much closer to 1 than they have been over the last 4-5 years. Are the shorts getting kicked in the , well,... shorts?

i thought that Comex is only one market.
i.e. an investor can have a long on one exchange (Comex), and a short in another (LBMA) - and the offsetting positions won't be reported, on the one exchange's report.
how many of the positions reported in the CFTC "CoT" report have offsetting positions in the same report, and how many have offsetting positions on another exchange ? or no offsetting position at all ?
i'm not sure if we can take near-identical numbers of longs & shorts in one exchange's CoT report as a reliable market indicator.
