Progress ? - Now Yahoo has Ads for Shingles !

I remember those good old days when there was one ad on every web page.

Now, the Yahoo mail page has gone retro. With just one ad. For "Shingles".


These aren't shingles for your roof.

This is a skin disease version of Shingles. They're not selling Shingles.

They're selling Shingles Treatment !

I always thought Shingles was a form of Herpes. The ad says it comes from the "Varicella" virus.


Does this mean I'm getting old ? How come I'm getting ads for Shingles treatment, and not ads for Corvettes ?

Shingles is Herpes Zoster which I think supposedly is a dormant form of chicken pox that stays within your spinal fluid after you have had chicken pox. It is debilitating and extremely painful. I got it when I was 20 and was laid up in bed for a month. They treated me with some strong antibiotics (I don't know why, doesn't seem to make sense) and lots of painkillers. Mostly strikes the old folks but my doc said any kind of stress or just bad luck can release that virus that's just sitting there and pretty much everybody has it.

Hey driller, have you been looking up wart treatments lately on yahoo? Probably have some super cookies. yahoo knows what's best for you. I would get the shingle treatment just in case. :D
