And who might this guy be ?
Someone who knew the Boston Bomber.
He conveniently confessed to a triple homicide before being killed.
Ibragim Todashev attacked the FBI agent who shot him dead Wednesday after he had confessed to a direct role in the 2011 triple homicide in Waltham, Massachusetts, a federal law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the case told CNN.
Authorities were questioning Todashev about the triple homicides and his acquaintance with a deceased suspect in last month's Boston Marathon bombings.
"He used some kind of weapon," the official said, and that prompted the FBI agent to shoot the suspect.
A second law enforcement official confirmed Todashev made the confession.
The agent was defending himself and felt his life was threatened, according to two law enforcement officials.
Todashev was being interviewed by two Massachusetts State Police officers and a Boston-based FBI agent in the kitchen of Todashev's Florida home, when Todashev grabbed a knife, which is why fatal force was used, according to a third source briefed on the ongoing investigation.
"Preliminary information indicates the agent took actions to defend himself," said the federal law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the case.
