Last night i get home late from the fields, up in the borderlands, the high country doing some late seeding.

Got home about a quarter to one and as i'm puling up to park i notice the front bumper of my daughters car laying on the pavement.

Some thieves had dropped it off and stolen her halo headlights along with the brackets they fit into.

Total cost over $1200.00 not including instillation charges.

She had parked the car around midnight so i just missed running them down by 45 minutes.

This is a girl who owns her own business providing skin care products and laser hair removal to allow people to feel better about themselves and they way they look.

She will be going through drive through for morning coffee/breakfast and will purchase the same for the person behind her, even though they are a total stranger.

How can this happen to such a good person? I am at a loss for words and at the moment very down on people and life in general.

WTF is it all about anyways?

You try your damndest to do good and you get shot down and stomped in the face.

I'm not very good company right now, pardon my french.

Well I commend you for putting forth such a good effort in the first place. Raising kids, working fields, etc, is a lot of work.

Two angels who stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the guestroom. Instead they were given a small space in the cold basement.
As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it. When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, “Things aren’t always what they seem.”

The next night the two angels came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had, the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night’s rest.

When the sun came up the next morning, the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was perplexed and asked the older angel, “How could you have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you fix a hole in his wall. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.”

“Things aren’t always what they seem,” the older angel replied. “When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn’t find it. Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead.”

What The thieves stole from your daughter can easily be replaced.

No one knows what would have happened if they ran into her or you.

So rather then put either one of you in harms way ......some headlights were offered up instead

Yeah... this world is overrun with devils and it is about to get much worse. The limits have been extended for what the devils may do. It is the choice of men to reject God and it is the judgment of God to allow- for a time- the ravages of devils to assault men. We are here temporarily. We go through stages of attacks. If we respond to the conviction of God's Spirit, we still go through stages of refining. Basically, this world sucks. But it is time-limited.

We had a gang of "youths" the other night, walking around the neighborhood at 4:00am, breaking into cars. The neighbors asked me to check my camera system, and it was funny to see them walking up my driveway, but do a complete 180 when they notice the glow of the IR from the cameras. These DVR/camera systems can be had cheap these days, and see in the dark. Actually, it was Ponce here, who originally posted a link to a $150 system I got, which was a good start, then I upgraded the cameras to have more IR for nightvision.

Men are basically evil, not good as is commonly reported, tauted and believed on. Until you recognize this, you will never understand man and more importantly his relationship to God.

Psalms 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

I can sympathize. Had some ladders and hoses stolen off a job site just before Christmas. Out busting my ass in the cold to make a living and some douche takes the tools i need for my livelihood. Lost about a day and a half of work time too finding and replacing the stuff I needed. It is a major piss off.

i lock the back of my truck even when i don't have much back there. right now just 2 5-gallon cans of gas. can's are going for $15 to $20 and the gas in each can is worth about $20.

i also always use a 'club' on my steering wheel. EVERYWHERE. most places i'm the only one using a club.

i don't have comprehensive (insurance) on my truck, so if it is stolen, i take it on the chin.

and there's a lot of good people out there, being pushed to cross the line, and a lot of so-so/scummy people, who would cross the line anyway.

especially in urban areas. but also in cities & rural areas. which i guess makes it everywhere.

still working on the skunk-spraying home-and-truck defense system. but, until then ...

You could probably rig something up with bear spray, some string and some pulleys easily. I have thought about it, but I would probably forget to disarm and spray myself.

Last month someone attempted to steal my motorcycle from in front of a grocery store. I found it leaned up against a light pole across the lot. Nearby, there was a short skid from the rear tire. Whoever took it wasn't man enough to kick it over so they tried to bump start it.
