A Chinese man grew tired of being told to ‘come back the next day’ by staff at a Mercedes showroom so has set up a tent in the middle of the store, refusing to budge.
Yao Feng, 48, is seeking compensation over a faulty B200 Mercedes-Benz that he purchased from the showroom in Beijing.
Mr Yao, paid £31,000 for the exclusive European import of the B200, regarded as luxury car in his home town of Chifeng, north-east China.

After everything from the thermostat to the gauge and the engine broke, Mr Yao drove the 800miles from his home back to the showroom in Beijing.
He demanded they fix the car – but after being told to ‘come back tomorrow’ for 20 days straight he had enough and pitched a tent in the store hall.

‘I was very proud to be the only person in my village to own a Mercedes-Benz.

'I had all of the extras installed on my B200. But shortly after getting home things started to go wrong,’ Mr Yao told local media.
‘The key ignition system packed up, then the thermostat, then the petrol gauge broke and the engine used to make a grinding noise. It didn't seem to have any power.’

Despite the fact that the mechanics had completely dismantled the vehicle before putting it back together it still didn't work properly.
He said: ‘I went there every day for 20 days demanding a replacement and every day they were telling me to come back.

'I think they were waiting for my money to run out as it's very expensive for me to stay at a hotel in Beijing.’
Mr Yao is refusing to budge until he is given compensation and local police have refused to move him on saying that it is a civil matter between the showroom and Mr Yao.
He said: ‘Now that it's only costing me my food to stay here I intend to remain as long as it takes to get satisfaction.’

Yep, almost surely in the US he'd have been tasered to death by cops and vilified by Fox News and neo-cons as an OWS extremist.

How about Considering "the fact that the mechanics had completely dismantled the vehicle before putting it back together it" is a miracle it works at all!

I bought my first and last Toyota 13 years ago, brand new, complete piece of crap, and the company handled the whole thing extremely underhandedly, but that's another story. Anyway, I'm in the dealership's shop literally weekly for a new problem, and I mean freakin' serious problems, not rattles and shit. Jackasses wanted to start ignoring me when I pulled into the service bay... pretend I'm not there. I found that if I lay in the middle of the service bay drive like I'm making snow angels... funny how quickly I am no longer invisible.

If you have a legitimate case, The California Lemon Law is pretty straight forward. I've turned in two cars under the Lemon Law. Both times I had the option of repair plus cash, a new vehicle, or the return of all the payments up to the first reoccurring problem. I always took the money and put it down on something from another brand.

In FL, I visit a lawyer with mounds of evidence, who tells me I've got the most absolute rock solid case he's ever seen and won't even need him.

Show up to Lemon Law hearing... Toyota pricks and lawyers show up and seem like best friends with "arbitrators", who seem to be just retired car dealers themselves.

I'm allowed to speak first, lay out this amazing case covering all bases (car had already blown up at 11 months, due to failed cat converters blocking exhaust, sludge, and other major issues).

Then Toyota's turn to speak. The thing is, once they start, I'm not allowed to speak again, so Toyota lawyers made up outlandish stories, such as, that I was a profession race car driver who used it for racing, my car was invisible to police because of some magic technology... and so on. Of course, I tried to rebute and say they were lying, but arbitrators would here nothing from me. Toyota won!... they were so happy and proud of themselves. I believe the arbi'traitors' and Totota when for lunch together.

Needless to say, because of their Jew lawyers and dishonesty, Toyota/Lexus will never see a penny from me.

Hey guys? sorry to see your problem with Toyota, mine is now 23 years old and runs better than new, but of course mine was build in Japan and not in the US......."Toyota, buy it today and you will drive it tomorrow".

Its all about face. That man has lost a lot of face in his village. I suspect there might have been some build up to the purchase of this car and it's gone very badly. Face nearly translates to the concept of honour and in my experience it' something best not to mess with. It can get nasty. Did we have the one about the Masserati that got sledge hammered at the car show. I think there was a lambo as well a while ago. Good to see the Chinese demanding quality for the money.

He deserves what he gets. With an attitude of " ‘I was very proud to be the only person in my village to own a Mercedes-Benz.". That kind of thinking is sad at the very least. My ownership of corporate products dictate my standing in society is pathetic. The guy can starve to death for all I care with that type of mentality of reality........

My friend lost a case like that to a well-known german car manufacturer.

He then turned around and hired a lawyer that said he'd work for settlement money, and they took it to arbitration. Needless to say they settled second time, they can't possibly be friends with ALL judges.
