My heart is still beating outta my chest and the adrenaline is still flowing .........

I just need to give the quick verision right now.

Im watching Stark Trek 3D as Im exiting the movie there is one of the employees collecting glasses. I walk by and she says excuse me you have to place them in the bin.

Im like I paid for these glasses. she then tells me what I paid for was the 3d experince. Im like no..I paid for these glasses and they are now my property.

She then tells me I have to talk to some person in a seat nearby. so I go over because it was few feet away and I was wasnt trying to make a tiff. I then tell this "manager" the same story these are my glasses because I paid for them

He rehashes what the clerk said that im paying for the experience . not the glasses.

At no point in time was i nasty I even told the dude im not trying to be asshole im just not cool with the fact you are going to re sell these glasses that I paid for and know that I think about it at no point in time was I told that I MUST surrender these glasses the only thing i can best recall was a REQUEST that i keep 3D green by recycling.

its at this point the dude gets up out of his chair (older man) and then his tone starts to change he starts giving me a attitude

Im also start getting a bad feeling in the pit my belly so it goes on a bit more and he keeps getting sharp with me like im being a wise ass for calling out the scam for the hustle it is.

so he tells me point blank you cant leave with the glasses they belong to with the movie ( or something weak like that)

At that time I know what I was gonna do

I cant leave with these glasses that I PAID for ??

Yeah you cant leave with those glasses you paid for.

fine.... I will put it in with the rest.

I crumpled them up nice and proceeded to walkout.

Well needless to say fly boy wasnt too happy and proceeded to follow me out the theater

When I looked at him in the lobby I saw a yellow stripe going down his leg ....I thought he was a cop

At that point I started to look for the nearest exit to get my ass out of there.

He scampers away for a second trying to call for the cops that were stationed somewhere around

At this point Im calmly walking to the door and this man is cussing me out in every way possible asshole, MF and he kept repeating it loud as hell trying his best to get a rise up out of me ( as a matter a fact a few people started to look at the commotion this one man was causing)

not knowing what was happening behind me I just kept walking to the door

all the while I was praying he can say whatever he likes but if he puts his hands on me...... well. ......I dont know what is going to happen.

so I to try to diffuse it as best I can: as he is cussing me out I actually start to AGREE WITH HIM.

Yeah im a ass
Im a Mfer
Im whatever you say

He just starting to get even louder.

As The Good Lord would have it I made it out of there with just a verbal assualt he came to the door and kept barking but didnt leave the facilty .

I just kept walking at the same clip until I rounded the nearest corner.

As soon as I banked it.........I hauled ass so quick I know I broke a olypmic record for 200 yard dash and hurdles (I cleared two bushes.)

I jumped in that car a sped off as fast as I could without drawing attention to myself.

That was a very long drive to say the least.

Just a simple act for self determination almost got me canned.

Sad. at what america has become
Angry. at myself for putting my well being and family at risk
and relieved that the Good Lord saved me from any unfortunate turn of events

Thats all I got for now....... the adrenaline is wearing off.

I will yip about this is the AM.

Peace.

Instead of crumpling, they could have slipped out of your hand when the staff got abusive and in the confusion and darkness you stepped on them.

On another note... how sanitary is it to recycle those things? How are they disinfected? Maybe the health inspector needs to get into the act and check out their cleaning & disinfecting protocols.

It wasnt the glasses but the principle of the matter

They end up charging almost 4+ dollars for something that you own.

If they said the glasses were only a rental then by purchasing a ticket i accept those terms.

Im dont like it when people change terms AFTER the fact.

Each of us have to deal with the city, municiplaties and other "authority" figures doing that all day long but that is part of dealing with the system

I go along and get along easy enough

But i have a problem with a small time operation snookering me out of my money.

In hindsight i could have just easily said i left it on the seat next to me and keep walking but i wasnt anticipating that less then 5 questions was going to turn square badge into a complete idiot with no self control. Who tried his best to lure a person who was physicall bigger younger and stronger into a physical.confrontation

In the future i will carry out my campaign more discreetly

Lesson learned..

Its funny that you should mention that

This is the third movie i saw with recycled glasses but it was the only one where i had take them off to wipe the eye beecause there were smudge marks.

At a movie prior to this one i did ask the clerk about recycled glasses he said that they where streilized prior to being resold again

It was at that point i made it my business to start keeping them.

So, what you’re saying then is… you DID NOT have fun, the night you decided to go out and actually pay to sit through some Jew diversity training and MIC propaganda? Pick your battles. Going out to do sheepish things carries the risk of being mistaken for a sheep.

Not trying to throw stones here. I did see Avatar at the theatre in 3-D, and it was well worth it (despite any underlying agendas). You got to keep your glasses back then (but as mentioned, worthless outside the theatre), but I guess since then, they decided it’s better to charge even more for the movies and also take the glasses back. I would place zero faith that any kind of disinfectant process was implemented with that decision. Glad I'm not a regular customer.

I just went through this with the company making my aircraft engine. I paid IN FULL, $20,000, back in January for an April delivery date. The deal was for free shipping, but it’s just 100 miles away, so I thought I’d save them some money and pick it up.

I was smart enough to get them to send me an itemized invoice marked PAID, zero balance.

Several delays with the engine, now July delivery, but in the meantime, they tried to add a $100 (plus tax) handling charge to pick it up. They could not understand why I’d have a problem with this. I said “you could have just the same put $200, $500, or $1000 on my account to pay to pick it up... what are you going to do, delay until August and send your July electric bill straight to me? By the original agreement, I should already have my engine, not dealing with illegal charges added to my account…” And to think, I was trying to help them save money by picking it up!

They removed the charge, but with their attitude about it, the damage is done. These aviation communities are tight, and word gets around. That’s going to be an expensive attempt at swiping $100.

That one made me chuckle. Ain't it the truth! Acting like a sheep or a lemming would lead a mindless drone to think you are one. And... sometimes that is a good thing for them to be thinking.

Jew diversity training.... yeup. I didn't critically analyze it.... btw- you can watch this stuff free but not 3d.... and not the greatest quality..... but diversity is one of the key messages. I'm just trying to figure out this, "choose your battles" mentality. If we don't expose and confront the "small" bullsh*t issues, do you honestly think it'll get easier down the road? Not a jab at you TT, but, you come across as a little more tougher than the description you gave us above. You "ran" from this, worried about whether he called the cops about it or not. Did you do something "illegal"? No, so why worry? You should have stood your ground, your smart enough. Make a scene, have the cops show up and make sure everyone around you knows its a scam. Maybe then, they'll (some of the sheep) get some brass ones and stand up with you. Once again, you didn't do anything "illegal", yet you were worried/scared. Thats what we try to fight everyday from these criminals and their thugs. I'm wondering if someone has a list of the "battles to choose" to make a stand over? Is humiliation in a TSA lineup one of them or not? Is blatant theft of your hard earned wealth one of them? Is protecting our food one? I'm starting to see more people make a stand when it comes to filming/recording LEO's and their actions (thats a start) and others not putting up with these TSA checkpoints. The time is now to push back on all things predatory. If not now, when? Once again TT, this is not a jab at you, just an observation on how far we still have to go.............

You do have a good point about this Blink! If the cinema charges $4 for the glasses you own them (I bet you can find them cheaper on the net), and they have no right to demand them back, people may choose to recycle them, but they should not be forced to do so, unless it was understood it was a rental agreement (which I understand it was not), and if it was $4 is a ridiculous charge. The road to tyranny is done in small steps with people just agreeing to the perceived small transgressions, but they do add up. I don't think it likely that the police would have arrested Twisted for the glasses that he already paid for, and if they did, it wouldn't go to a trial, and if it did it would have been an interesting case...

I could be wrong on this, because I personally don't enjoy the 3d glasses, but I am sure that they do disclose the fact that you have to return the glasses when you're done. TT's theater may be different, but at the ones near me, I'm pretty sure let you know that you have to give them back.

I have several pairs of the glasses from 3d movies, they work with the new 3d tv that a friend has at his house so I keep the bagged glasses for him and I take our own "clean" glasses to the movies when we go . One day I'm going to try the 3d movie without the $3 charge for glasses route by saying I have my own. The movie is $X and the glasses an additional $3 so I should be able to skip the glasses and pay for the movie alone and use my own glasses. I modified a pair so they are like clip on sunglasses so they fit on my eyeglass frame. Easier than trying to wear 2 pair of glasses at a time.

Expecting any type of "justice" out of a court has been a inside joke for a very long time.

The only campaign that can be succesful is the destruction of profits of those that oppress you.

It should be done covertly.

Again i was caught of guard just how fast tyranny can rear its ugly head and from whom.

I can see that you were caught off guard, but you wouldn't expect to do time or having a heavy fine over a couple of glasses that you already paid for, would you? And if they would have been so foolish to drag you to court over this, it would lead to a destruction of profits for them. You can buy these glasses cheaper than they are "renting" them out for. By running away you proved that asshole right. Sorry to say!

Agree with a lot of the posts here.

First off don't patronize these BS hollywood movie theaters. They are nothing but a cash register for the demoralizing elements of our society. Make a stand with yourself and your family.

Second, I agree with the whole line in the sand/picking your battles. On one hand this is hardly a reason to cause a ruckus and draw potential police scrutiny, but then again how much BS are we gonna just sit there and take from these a-holes?

Third, The guy giving you shit is high on his horse because this is the most important job he has ever had in his life and he gets off on the authority/adrenaline/roid rage. I know hind site is 20/20, but what was this punk really gonna do? Slam your ass for a pair of plastic 3D glasses? I would love for some rent a cop to do that to me.

That is the question that each of us have to answer at the moment of truth and it varies for each of us. Even though I was technically in my rights to assert myself . I quickly realized I was A) in unfamiliar terrority B) Dealing with a antagonist asswipe that is looking for escalation C) The presecence of Goon Squad.

Of all of them what troubled me the most was the age of this guy. he was just at that age were you look at him and you automatically ASSUME what he says is what occured and I suspect that is what he was hoping for : get into a situation where he is in my face and probally start shoving and when I go to defend myself all they are going to see in grandpa holding his chest in early stages of a aniexty/panic attack and me standing over him. The problem is that these Moldy Ass-Wipes (MAW's) are willing to escalate over a cheap thing that may have cost them $2.

they wouldn't be acting this way if the manager didn't have an incentive related to the bottom line. at some point the task passes to people who don't even get a bonus related to the theater performance.

in a nutshell, this is the future that awaits most Americans. fighting over $ while the J-Whiners laugh. the plastic glasses belong to a syndicate (sin-dicate ?) owned by the J-whiners.

if i had the MAW's job, i might say something like, "i know this is really stupid, but my manager gets a bigger bonus if you turn in your cheapo 3D glasses. my job is to ask you to turn them in, and to act like you're breaking the law if you don't".

2 trains of thought -
A/ how about going back with a video cam and capturing the whole episode ? for example one of these -
http://www.amazon.com/Kodak-PlayTouch-Video-Camera-Teal/dp/B003VTZE5I/

they were $90.

B/ "Run Child, Run for the Hills" - is that a line from 'Gone with the Wind' ?

either way, they have shown their true nature. they have turned a simple desire, wanting to keep the glasses you paid $ for, into a crime.

i think you just added 5 years on to, the next time i step into a movie theater.

that's why i suggest video recording the MAW's in action. you exert some control over the situation. you show them the video. their blood pressure goes up.

they try to deal with the stress by reporting you to the DHS for photographing a public place.

can't win.

it's the fact that some Moldy Asswipe is sticking their nose in your business, over practically nothing.

also the fact that the J-Whiners, through their proxies, are trying to straitjacket we the General Public, with rules governing every conceivable aspect of Life.

I don't know, I kind of think it's good not to put up with sh*t sometimes. TT wasn't really in danger of getting arrested (well hopefully) but he made a scene and pushed back against a bunch of BS.

I think it would be best to make a scene, get the guy's blood pressure up, but then give the glasses to him in the end. That way you don't actually do anything "wrong" but it becomes simply too expensive for them to do what they're doing.

Just put up the resistance and if enough people resist (even a small %) then the crap we all have to deal with will go down. Just like if more than the current 2% of people opted out of the airport scanners, they'd be unenforceable because it would simply take too much time.

So basically what I'm saying is that it's true we should pick our fights, but that doesn't mean we can't push the limits (without actually "fighting").

Yep indeed,

Reminds me of this one time in Denver.....true song

And it's a song lyric, so this is officially a crime scene

Flew the bird

I flew the bird
At the TSA
Down at DIA

Well, I was forced
Into a microwave
Down at DIA

And I flew the bird

Well, the little moron with the badge
Said, son you can’t do that
There’s little kids here and a grandma there
That’s waiting for their pat

I flew the bird
At the TSA
Down at DIA

I flew the bird

With a fake chinese plastic badge
They take your rights away
With a fake chinese plastic badge
These blue shirts got it made

I flew the bird
At the TSA
Down at DIA

I flew the bird
