There is no doubt that solar energy causes the earth environment to be what it is. While there is energy hitting the earth from the sun, there is also much energy radiating out from the earth. I also think that there is energy penetrating the earth and causing fusion reactions in the core.

But the predictions of volcanoes & earthquakes need to be more closely monitored. The events happen quickly. When we are sprayed by a CME, we may have a few hours to a few days notice. Right now, there is nothing hazardous pointing at us.
