On the morning of May 15, an elevator fall accident occurred in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. A nurse in the elevator was killed. It was reported that the elevator fell from 16 floor to -1 floor killing the nurse on site.

The video shows the nurse was messing with her cell phone as the elevator doors opened and she begins to step out. It was at that point that the elevator’s breaks gave way and the elevator started to plunge trapping the nurse between the floor and the elevator opening which almost instantly decapitated the nurse.

On afternoon of 17 May, the Shenzhen Police Director Zhang Shaobiao briefed reporters on the latest developments, based on the investigation and preliminary findings, improper lubricant for lubrication was applied on the elevator of the accident resulting in the brake drum not working smoothly which is a very dangerous state.

I think that is what you call - quality Chinese manufacturing.

the Chinese have Hoover'ed up American (and world) manufacturing technology.

they are also very proficient/ skilled at it.

Americans are now brainwashed into thinking that digital techology is the Be-All/ End-All, that old-fashioned industrial arts have no value.

if the Chinese can learn Surface-Mount Technology & other forms of automated manufacturing, they can learn programming. of course, they already learned programming.

so now the question is - can they learn branding - like Facebook/ Google/ Coca-Cola ? i think that Korean guy, Gangnam-whoever, has answered that question.

i'd like to see the Chinese learn bankstering. maybe put a few 100,000 NYC banksters out on the bread line.

re "low-quality" - China is one of the low-cost manufacturers - and they have many fewer quality controls. i don't think Americans have any more ability at high-quality, than the Chinese do.

but the Chinese are very survival oriented - and they are applying their skills to "alternative manufacturing" - counterfeit Silver Eagles, for example.

the trend with technology assimilation is always - the more you apply yourself, the better you get. those circulated Mercury Dimes are looking better & better. not that the Chinese couldn't manufacture those - it's just that there's less incentive.

i was looking at some cans of mandarin oranges i ate about 2 years ago, where i kept the can. 'made in China'. makes me wonder what i ate. lead ? plastic ? they tasted good - but i ain't buying no more ! :)
