old steel

Just spent the past 3 hours biking down the coulees, along the river and then back up to the top.
I'm kinda wasted right know as it's a good 2500' drop and then back up plus following the river for a couple miles.
The path was very narrow by the river with maybe a foot of path against the river on one side and the clay cliff on the other. Damn near lost it once which would have thrown me in the river and i would have been in trouble but i pedaled out of it. Amazing flora and fauna, lots of mini cactus, deer, saw some old shedded rattlesnake skin on the path a couple of Ravens numerous other birds.
Hit a ditch and damn near went over the handlebars, i should have worn a head cam and made a documentary amazing what is right off our doorstep here, couple of serious washouts i had to navigate around pedaling through some grass and bushes that were even to the top of my head, very narrow path got my pedals hung up a couple times and almost wiped out.
Ran across an old guy walking on a path and saw a woman walking her dog on a coulee hill next to the one i was on. Tons of paths i came across that i will explore one at a time as this is a huge area.
Coming back up took a lot of energy as there are some very steep climbs but i never stopped once.
What an awesome freaking day this turned out to be!
