Anyone had it?
I got it this morning and had to buy Spyhunter4 software to get rid of it. ($39)
The virus asks you to pay to unlock your computer.
Luckily I have two log-in accounts on this puter and was able to get on one to download the software.
Everything is running fine now.

You were scammed. Whenever you get something like that, NEVER EVER EVER (did I say never) pay to have it removed. Whatever credit card you used to purchase "spyhunter 4" software CANCEL IT IMMEDIATELY. You gave them a valid CC and will now most likely sell it on the black market to the highest bidder.

That's called extortion ware. You were extorted money to "buy" software to "remove" the previous software. I've gotten crap like that before. I shut down the computer, remove the hard drive, hook it up to another computer slave the drive, and remove whatever data I want to keep. Wipe drive, and start over.

Better yet, boot into safe mode, download "malware bytes", and see if that can remove it. They also have a help forum that has been helpful in the past.

Being a tech who works in large enterprise environments, I always go with the quickest 100% solution first. :)

But I would STRONGLY suggest EE cancel the credit card he used to purchase that software.

Are you guys saying Spyhunter4 virus scan is a scam?
I found it on couple other websites where it was recommended.
It cleaned a shitload of threats and viruses of my puter.

I didn't click on anything on the FBICybercrime virus...didn't touch it.

Might be a good idea to revisit your existing security:

What current antivirus software allowed this infection to happen to your machine? Was it updated? Maybe better to now switch to the free version of Avast! (http://www.avast.com/en-us/index) software.

I always surf using a limited-authority "User" account not a Admin account in Windows. This substantially limits the risk.

Download and use the free Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/) to remove future cooties. Do it now to verify your machine is now clean.

THAT (http://www.comparedandreviewed.com/anti-spyware-software) "review" website is a shill only selling you stuff...didn't even mention the free Malwarebytes.

Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/) is free and cleans all the cooties.

I'd also recommend Avast for daily anti shit stuff, but malwarebytes is awesome, you just have to be diligent about updating and scanning once a week or so. Also maxa cookie to keep the cookies away so to speak.

The internet is a fucked up place. It's like driving in L.A. you have to have insurance for all the fuckers out there that want to take your money. Good luck dickhead.

I bought this for 6 months and puter is running fine. I'll go to the free sites mentioned after.
This product worked great and saved me a trip to the computer tech store. They charge $57
I also have McAfee also that's included with aol...I know, I know, aol sucks.

I got it last week. Had to wipe my system. It's an old virus but they have improved it such that you cannot use the normal routes to delete it. Just a friendly reminder to keep a backup of all your stuff regularly. I think the virae are part of the plan.....Everyone will get so pissed off at the cyber insecurity and identity theft that eventually we will all beg for a bio metric or chip solution. That's the deal they are running. My best friend got it a week before I did and could not do anything but wipe and start new. People are going to get pissed off when this shit is happening to everyone, all the time, and they are going to demand the gov fix it.

FYI I was running Avira at the time and before my machine jacked Avira started pulling 70% processor. The "FBI" notice also had an Avira logo on it? I think they have figured out how to jack in through your antivirus program.

About to start burning op systems on dvd and run from them.
