This now affirmates what I have been saying for a long time:

"Where China goes around the world doing business and making friends, the US goes around the world doing wars and making enemies"
======================================

During an official visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping, the two countries signed nine cooperation agreements totaling $1.5 billion that will provide resources for improving Costa Rican roads and public transit fleets, purchasing solar panels and the building of a new police school.

Costa Rica is now a hub of Chinese power. Something the United States is certainly keeping an eye on. Do not forget that this includes a $900 Million line of credit for an oil refinery on the Caribbean coast. Showing once again that the Costa Rica government is not really wanting to go “green” and be carbon neutral. It also shows once again they do not care about the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.

Wonder how long before we start seeing Chinese troops stationed worldwide like America does. Costa Rica would prove a vital base of operations for the Chinese because of its proximity to both the Panama Canal and the United States. Although there is of course no plans as of yet to do so, yet…. -Mort

Ha, and I was just offered a job selling solar panels.

The Police school thing sucks, I think they're some of the finest police in the world here already.

They do absolutely nothing whatsoever, most everything is handled civil.

...

Be careful. I am hearing that some of the cheap Chinese panels are not lasting to long. Not sure if it is true.

Where did you get in there that I would be buying them? lol

Yeah, like their new largest stadium in central america that was donated by the chinese, where if they turn all the lights on at once the main circuits catch on fire. Its all to keep the illegal shark fining business open. Costa Rica has huge ocean way rights to the cocos island.

China has to do large bulk item deals like this because its service industry on the cheap crap doesn't stand a chance.

Reputation counts. Also Central America is a small place, and justice is often swift and does not involve official channels.

When you're also dealing with a 25% import tax on any of the latest forms of technology items,

we can start to discuss on equal terms the market's demand for quality items.

Though there are some plastic straws down here that are so durable, I could use them for a life time...http://gold-silver.us/forum/images/smilies/smiley.gif

They just installed street signs and have an income tax scheme now, so C.R. is screwed like the rest of the planet now.
