Yahoo Sports News. Interviewer tries to interview MMA fighter after a victory.

Fighter vomits, off-camera.

Makes you wonder if Mayer was sent to Yahoo to SINK Yahoo.

Note the use of an embedded Youtube ... Yahoo does have video ... an embedded Youtube with ads makes money for ... Google.

Also, Yahoo Mail was hacked November 14, among other days - also during Mayer's tenure.

Yahoo's response - total denial.

I know about this hack because my email account was used to sent out about 10,000 spam emails.

My predictable response - open up a GMail account.

I just wonder if Mayer went to Yahoo to save it - or to sink it. If she sinks it, it won't look good on her resume - unless she uses it as a springboard to another executive position.

got to wonder what are the "marching orders" for their news channels editors.

how i come up with these silly links - Yahoo Finance has regular financial news. then off to the right, they have the "tabloid stuff".

OK, i admit it, they hooked me. it's stupid, but it is entertaining.

Maybe Yahoo will buy "EBaumsWorld" next. then they can have stupidly entertaining content 24/7.

Gotta love how she forced all the work at home people to come into the office against the terms they were hired in at. Mothers who were saving a bundle by being able to stay at home with their kids now have to fork out money for daycare. Marissa Mayer, however, had a child and built a nursery in her Yahoo office. Such a compassionate leader!

I hate the way Yahoo uses teaser titles for news stories. Even if they catch my eye, I purposely ignore them. Things like Mom catches husband doing surprising thing in bathroom. Then the article might be about someone adding a seat warmer to the toilet. That was a totally made up example, but Yahoo does it all the time.

I find the best features are the comments they allow! ZH's are #1 though...

I'm weaned off of yahoo since they implemented some ridiculous security questions before I can send email.

gD, good point.

I know another executive that was sent to another company and sold it off, basically. Microsoft VP to Nokia. And then the guy destroys very successful independent OS Symbian and brings over Microsoft platform. I'm sure and all spying and logging tech built into it too.

Someone commented who knew Marissa that she was very bright. I don't think it is a wise move thought to put someone who's not versed in intricacies of alphabet agencies , oligarchs , bankers, defense and other interests to lead a company such as Yahoo. I think their Microsoft search contract together with Google youtube contract (and again, all the spying tech with it), will eventually rip Yahoo apart as they got no defense against big guns IMHO.

Although their stock chart looks awesome, so maybe they already ARE part of TPTB portfolio, like Google, Microsoft and Apple... After all, CFO is Ken Goldman. Who knows.

I am reading through Mayer's history. Her role in Google and in Yahoo is the same - to acquire companies. She is clearly a front behind a skilled and mean acquisition machine, just like NSA-DARPA-CIA-ladden Google has two boys that claim innocence and "do no evil".

I am reading through her acquisitions, and it looks like they are doing what Yahoo! has originally done - basically there's an unlimited money pit behind them, and they just buy off companies they feel like acquiring. You can read it through Yahoo!'s history. They always had trouble integrating, but that's how they get access to hottest sites and great talented developers, and don't die off. SO...my gut feeling on this one is that they ARE owned by TPTB, and hence are probably in the unsinkable five - Yahoo!, Google, Microsoft, Apple and Facebook.

Look at acquisitions: Tumblr for $1.1 billion, when Tumblr makes $13 million per year. Looks dumb from all perspective, except 90 developers that join Yahoo! and 117 mln unique visitors per month, which is a chump change per visitor ($1.27 per visitor if spread across 1 year). Hulu $800 million.
