Hawkish US Senator John McCain, who is a staunch supporter of arming the militants in Syria, said on June 13 that Washington should even think of plans other than sending weapons to the militants “to change the equation on the battleground.”

A senior Russian lawmaker says information on the use of chemical weapons by Syrian forces against militants is ‘fabricated.’

Alexei Pushkov, the head of the Russian foreign policy committee in the lower chamber of parliament, said in a Friday message posted on Twitter that the information has been concocted in a similar fashion as lies were made up about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction prior to the US invasion of the country in 2003.

“Information about the use by [Syrian President Bashar] Assad of chemical weapons has been fabricated in the same place as the lies about (Saddam) Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction,” Pushkov stated.
On June 13, US Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes claimed in a White House statement that the Syrian government “has used chemical weapons, including the nerve agent sarin, on a small scale” against the foreign-backed Takfiri militants “multiple times in the last year.”

Syria strongly rejects such claims and says the militants have used chemical weapons on several occasions, including an attack in the region of Khan al-Assal in the northwestern province of Aleppo on March 19, where over two dozen people died.

The Russian lawmaker also said that Obama “is taking the same path as George Bush,” referring to the former US president, under whose administration the US invasion of Iraq took place.

US press reports on June 13 said the Obama administration has decided to begin supplying the militants in Syria with small arms and ammunition. The assistance, coordinated by the CIA spy agency, could include antitank weapons, according to US officials cited by the New York Times.

Hawkish US Senator John McCain, who is a staunch supporter of arming the militants in Syria, said on the same day that Washington should even think of plans other than sending weapons to the militants “to change the equation on the battleground.”

The foreign-sponsored militancy, which turned the situation in Syria into turmoil more than two years ago, has been taking its toll on the lives of many people, including large numbers of Syrian soldiers and security personnel.

Gee...fabricated...ya think??

Note the timing - Assad re-takes some ground and immediately 'the redline is crossed'. The Commie Nooz Nyetwork advised me that there's now "direct US military involvement in Syria". Nice.

This was a given the moment Obama stated that US would get involved if Assad started using chemical weapons. I saw it reported on Swedish TV several times, but the only evidence they showed was this militia leader claiming 'Assad used a gas, errh, Sarin gas, against us', apparently if you repeat this dozens of times in a day, it becomes true in most people's mind, no real evidence is necessary, just a persons testimony who would benefit greatly if the US starts sending weapons and ammo there...

Hear a Brit on the radio claiming they tested soil samples. He stated the forensic chain was not "perfect". HE also said that they "probably" had some clothing samples, and maybe hair and blood samples from refuges. The only thing he seemed certain about were the soil samples. He was CEO of some biotech firm in the UK.

Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/council-of-ministers/), that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/united-nations/) diplomat said Monday.
Carla del Ponte (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/carla-del-ponte/), a member of the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/un-independent-international-commission-of-inquiry/) on Syria (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/syria/), told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/bashar-al-assad/) had used the nerve agent.
SEE RELATED: Obama hunts for new strategy after misreading power of Syria’s Assad (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/5/obama-looks-for-new-strategy-after-misreading-powe/)
But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/council-of-ministers/) forces using chemical weapons, according to the BBC (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/bbc/), but she added that more investigation was needed.
Damascus has recently facing growing Western accusations that its forces used such weapons, which President Obama has described as crossing a red line. But Ms. del Ponte (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/carla-del-ponte/)’s remarks may serve to shift the focus of international concern.
Ms. del Ponte (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/carla-del-ponte/), who in 1999 was appointed to head the U.N. (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/united-nations/) was crimes tribunals for Yugoslavia (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/yugoslavia/) and Rwanda (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/rwanda/), has sometimes been a controversial figure. She was removed from her Rwanda (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/rwanda/) post by the U.N. Security Council (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/un-security-council/) in 2003, but she continued as the chief prosecutor for the Yugoslav tribunal until 2008.
Ms. del Ponte (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/carla-del-ponte/), a former Swiss prosecutor and attorney general, told Swiss TV: “Our investigators have been in neighboring countries interviewing victims, doctors and field hospitals. According to their report of last week, which I have seen, there are strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof of the use of sarin gas, from the way the victims were treated.”
She gave no further details, the BBC (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/bbc/) said.
The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/un-independent-international-commission-of-inquiry/) on Syria (http://www.washingtontimes.com/topics/syria/) was established in August 2011 to examine alleged violations of human rights in the Syrian conflict which started in March that year.
SEE RELATED: Israel returns to ‘business as usual’ after strikes on Syria (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/may/6/israel-returns-business-usual-after-strikes-syria/)
It is due to issue its next report to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva in June.
Rebel Free Syrian Army spokesman Louay Almokdad denied that rebels had use chemical weapons.
“In any case, we don’t have the mechanism to launch these kinds of weapons, which would need missiles that can carry chemical warheads, and we in the FSA do not possess these kind of capabilities,” Mr. Almokdad told CNN.
“More importantly, we do not aspire to have (chemical weapons) because we view our battle with the regime as a battle for the establishment of a free democratic state. … We want to build a free democratic state that recognizes and abides by all international accords and agreements — and chemical and biological warfare is something forbidden legally and internationally.”

Flashback: Hacked Emails Reveal ‘Washington-Approved’ Plan to Stage Chemical Weapons Attack in Syria http://www.realnewsreporter.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/w460-300x199.jpg Obama administration complicit in war crime?
Paul Joseph Watson – Infowars.com (http://www.infowars.com/hack-reveals-washington-approved-plan-to-stage-chemical-weapons-attack-in-syria/)
UPDATE: Britam has admitted that it was hacked but denied that the emails released by the hacker were genuine. Click here (http://ruvr.co.uk/2013_01_30/Britam-security-hack/) for a statement by a Britam spokesman.

Alleged hacked emails from defense contractor Britam reveal a plan “approved by Washington” and funded by Qatar to stage a chemical weapons attack in Syria and blame it on the Assad regime, fulfilling what the Obama administration has made clear is a “red line” that would mandate US military intervention.

The leaked emails, obtained by a hacker in Germany, feature an exchange (click here (http://static.prisonplanet.com/p/images/january2013/280113email.png) for screenshot) between Britam Defence’s Business Development Director David Goulding and the company’s founder Philip Doughty;
Phil:
We’ve got a new offer. It’s about Syria again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved by Washington.
We’ll have to deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell from Libya similar to those that Assad should have. They want us to deploy our Ukrainian personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record. Frankly, I don’t think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion?
Kind regards
David

The fact that the plan involves delivering a CW (chemical weapon) that is “similar to those Assad should have,” clearly suggests that the idea is to stage a false flag chemical weapons attack that could be blamed on Assad by Gulf states like Qatar and NATO powers.
If the claim that such as plot was “approved by Washington” can be verified, then the Obama administration is complicit in a war crime.

According to Cyber War News (http://www.cyberwarnews.info/reports/a-look-into-the-britam-defence-data-leak-files/), which details the process of how the emails were hacked and includes screenshots of the leaked documents, the hack also uncovered, “extremely personal information,” including copies of passports of Britam employees, some of whom appeared to be mercenaries.
A full list of all the hacked documents can be found here (http://pastebin.com/Whyvnnd6). One software systems administrator who analyzed the ‘header’ details (http://redhotrussia.com/britam-defense-hacked-russia-syria/) from the email in question concluded, “I have to admit that the email does indeed look genuine….all these facts check out. So with Mythbusters objectivity I have to call this one plausible.”
Online business profiles confirm that both David Goulding (http://uk.linkedin.com/pub/dave-goulding/5/412/5b7) and Philip Doughty (http://www.army-guide.com/eng/firm3229.html) work for Britam Defence.
Last year, reports began to circulate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbMdll58lis) that that US-backed rebel fighters in Syria had been given gas masks and were willing to stage a chemical weapons attack which would then be blamed on the Assad regime to grease the skids for NATO military intervention.
Soon after in August, President Barack Obama warned (http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/121012-636561-obama-moves-syria-chemical-weapons-red-line.htm?p=full) that the use or even transportation of chemical weapons by the Assad regime would represent a “red line” that would precipitate military intervention. French President Francois Hollande followed suit (http://uk.reuters.com/article/2012/08/27/uk-syria-crisis-france-idUKBRE87Q0QZ20120827), stating that the use of such weapons “Would be a legitimate reason for direct intervention.”
At around the same time, a source told Syrian news channel Addounia (http://www.infowars.com/nato-plot-to-use-ambulances-as-cover-for-humanitarian-invasion-of-syria/) that a Saudi company had fitted 1400 ambulance vehicles with anti-gas & anti-chemical filtering systems at a cost of $97,000 dollars each, in preparation for a chemical weapons attack carried out by FSA rebels using mortar rounds. A further 400 vehicles were prepared as troop carriers.
The attack would be blamed on the Syrian Army and exploited as an excuse for a military assault. A March 2012 Brookings Institution report entitled Saving Syria: Assessing Options For Regime Change outlined this very scenario (http://www.infowars.com/assault-on-syria-matches-brookings-institution-regime-change-strategy/) – where a manufactured humanitarian crisis would be cited as justification for an attack.
Yesterday, Israel’s vice premier Silvan Shalom told reporters (http://whtc.com/news/articles/2013/jan/27/israel-vows-syria-strike-at-any-sign-of-chemical-arms-transfer/) that if Syrian rebels obtained chemical weapons from stockpiles belonging to the Assad regime, such a development would force Israel to resort to “preventive operations,” in other words – a military strike on Syria.
In December, a shocking video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=H-6O-gApVrU) emerged of Syrian rebels testing what appeared to be a form of nerve gas on rabbits, bolstering claims that the rebels had already obtained chemical weapons.
As Tony Cartalucci also highlights (http://landdestroyer.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/is-uk-defense-contractor-planning.html), “Mention of acquiring chemical weapons from Libya is particularly troubling. Libya’s arsenal had fallen into the hands of sectarian extremists with NATO assistance in 2011 in the culmination of efforts to overthrow the North African nation . Since then, Libya’s militants led by commanders of Al Qaeda’s Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (http://landdestroyer.blogspot.com/2011/09/west-point-terror-center-confirms-al.html) (LIFG) have armed sectarian extremists across the Arab World, from as far West as Mali, to as far East as Syria.” (http://landdestroyer.blogspot.com/2012/04/nato-triggers-african-terror-wave.html)
Last month, 29 different US-backed Syrian opposition groups pledged their allegiance to Al Nusra, an Al-Qaeda-affiliated group which, as the New York Times reported (http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/09/world/middleeast/syrian-rebels-tied-to-al-qaeda-play-key-role-in-war.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0), “killed numerous American troops in Iraq.
Numerous reports confirm that Al Nusra is the leading front line fighting force in Syria (http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2013/1/9/3557/14093) and is commanding other rebel groups. Given their prominent role, allied with the fact that the terror group has been responsible for numerous bloody attacks in Syria, the notion that the Obama administration would approve a plot that could see chemical weapons fall into the hands of Al-Qaeda terrorists could represent a foreign policy scandal even bigger than Benghazi-Gate.
In a related story, the Syrian Electronic Army (http://leaks.syrian-es.org/), a separate hacktivist group, continues to release hacked files and emails from numerous sensitive foreign ministry and military websites (http://english.al-akhbar.com/content/qatar-leaks-business-foreign-affairs) belonging to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, including emails sent between these countries.
