n was a kid. Finally, the flying car has arrived. Actually, not quite yet. Officially, the TF-X is still in the funding & development stages, but this fixed wing street-legal aircraft with electric ground drive and electric power assist for takeoff and landing looks viable in the little video. But with an airspeed of 200MPH and a range of 500 miles why must we wait?!

Serpo? I like more the one shown at the end of the video as a new video....is the VW bubble car that goes up in the air about two feet, it is for two passengers and it has only one control stick for everything.......I seen before the one that you posted but it will be at least 15-20 years before we really see it on the strets.....specially at that price.

Wings aren't big enough for lift at 200 mph.....to slow.
Hang gliders have a bigger wing area for just one person....not to mention the weight of fuel and batteries this thing is required.

And the props folding like that is a safety issue.
One of those breaks and fly's off ......the thing will vibrate itself into pieces before it hits the ground.

There have been flying cars of some sort since the 1920s. The problem is mixing the ground and flight aspects. A little dent from the parking lot can be fatal in the air. A car built light enough to fly has zero crash protection. I hope they keep trying but I'm not optimistic.

when i was a kid i knew Zilch about such things. So Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a harmless memory of a benign thing.

yet it was created by Hollywood.

I realized some time ago that I really don't want flying cars for the masses...taking short cuts over my property tossing fast food trash and cigarette butts out on my now useless privacy fenced backyard, or leering at my naked wife pulling weeds in the garden. Etc. etc.. :)
