As the country is apparently in a full anti gun hysteria, the president was playing with toy guns with his daughters, a practice that has been demonized across the country in recent months.
The White House tweeted the picture with the message, “Hope all the dads out there have a great Father’s Day weekend.”
It was recently announced that a school in California would be doing a toy gun buyback (http://gunssavelives.net/blog/brainwashing-of-children-to-be-anti-gun-continues-ca-school-to-have-toy-gun-buyback-yeah-thats-happening/) where students could trade in their toy guns for a chance to win a new bicycle.
“Playing with toys guns, saying ‘I’m going to shoot you,’ desensitizes them, so as they get older, it’s easier for them to use a real gun,” Chris Hill, the principal who organized the buyback, said said in a statement (http://www.mercurynews.com/breaking-news/ci_23406432/hayward-school-sponsors-toy-gun-exchange) to Mercury News.

Multiple students were suspended in Washington for bringing toy Nerf guns to school (http://gunssavelives.net/blog/video-multiple-students-suspended-for-playing-with-nerf-guns-after-teacher-okd-them/) (they did not resemble real guns and were brightly colored) for a project that was previously OK’d by their teacher.
Anti gun mayor Michael Bloomberg’s New York City government recently fined a small shop owner $60,000 (http://gunssavelives.net/blog/gun-laws/bloombergs-nyc-government-fining-gift-shop-owner-60000-for-selling-tiny-gun-shaped-lighters/) for selling miniature gun shaped lighters since selling toy guns that aren’t brightly colored with non typical gun colors is highly illegal in New York City.
I guess this is just one more example of “do as I say, not as I do” from this administration.

SUFFOLK, Va. - Two elementary school students' suspensions for pretending pencils were guns have prompted the Suffolk school board to revise its weapons policy.

The old weapons policy was zero tolerance.

Under the revised policy, school administrators can look at factors such as intentions of harm and whether the object is listed as a weapon to determine the punishment. Ordinary objects will not be considered weapons
A local television station reports that school board members voted unanimously to approve the revised policy last week.
Last month, two 7-year-old Driver Elementary School students were suspended for pointing pencils and making gun noises.
One of the boys, Christopher Marshall, told a local television station that he was impersonating his father, who is a former Marine.
"The school board could have done the right thing, not just on paper like they did at the meeting last night, but they could have actually apologized, said `hey you know it's unfortunate that it happened, but we're coming to you to say things will be changed to mitigate the problem in the future,"' said Paul Marshall, the boy's father.
With the new changes to the school's weapons policy, principals will determine punishment on a case-by-case basis.
