According to an article on Bizpacreview.com (http://www.bizpacreview.com/2013/06/22/madonna-aligns-with-nra-schools-gun-grabbing-liberal-media-78496), singing superstar Madonna made some comments which, while not directly supporting gun rights, were at least more neutral on the subject than most of her Hollywood associates.
Madonna recently appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America to promote her upcoming concert event, Madonna: The MDNA Tour. During the interview Madonna was asked about the use of prop guns during one part of her show (a part of the show which has drawn criticism from anti gun groups). Elizabeth Vargas asked the singer if she planned on changing or removing that part of the show, Madonna said absolutely not.
According to BPR here is the exchange,
“That would be like asking people to not have guns in action movies,” she said. “I mean the thing is, guns don’t kill people, people kill people. That whole first section of the show is like an action movie, and I was playing a super vixen who wanted revenge.”
“But I know there was several movies that delayed release because of the shootings, for example, at Sandy Hook Elementary school,” Vargas said.
“Well that’s not going to change the situation,” Madonna answered. “This all comes from fear and ignorance, and people not really raising their children, or not paying attention to what’s going on.”
It may not be direct support of gun rights, but it is certainly better than the drivel that most Hollywood stars spout when asked about gun rights.
