its hard to get a size perspective on that object. Maybe someone ejected the CD on the mars rover. Didn't like the music? Malfunction on the CD Changer? I wonder if there is a product recall? If it's a software disk the mars rover might not reboot properly.

It could be an eye. Some of the rocks look interesting. Very smooth and flat. Odd shapes almost like being shattered.

And I dont think the metal detector will have a long enough arm to see what it is ......
