The concept of the USA as a confederation of independent states died in 1865. It's been a single "unified" Imperial state since then.

If you are black then this statement might be considered true. The blacks were never party to the original compact it seems. The only way they might participate is to form a new compact (aka 14th amendment). However, what part of the word 'perpetual' is ambiguous? And where is this word prominently recorded?

We, pronoun, as in 'you and I', in the singular sense and in reference to a man with a mouse in his pocket in the plural sense.
In a ficitonal episode of The Lone Ranger, the masked man turned to Tonto and stated "Tonto, we are surrounded by Indians. What are we going to do?" to which Tonto's response was "What do you mean we, White Man?"

Did You Know These Ecuador Facts:
There are a lot of these Ecuador facts that I will post as I learn them. Some I get from books, but most of them come from asking questions and getting answers from friends and local people who live in Ecuador. If you have any interesting facts that you think everyone could benefit from, please add them in the comment section…
It will take about 2 years (not 3 days) of study to be competent in speaking Spanish, not fluent, but comfortable in day to day outings. You should be able to read and write a little sooner.
Doctors still make house calls in Ecuador
There are bad people in Ecuador and some of them are gringos.
You can build a pretty nice home for about $45 to $50 per square foot.
You can live ocean front in a high rise condo in Bahia starting at around $100,000. And rent that same condo for about $650 per month.
There are almost no thrift stores in Ecuador.
On our 2011 visit we were passed 6 counterfeit $5 and $10 bills compared to none when we were on a 2 week visit in 2012. The counterfeit money problem seems to be under control.

You should bring new, quality shoes with you when you move to Ecuador. Quality shoes are hard to find.
Large and tall size clothes are hard to find in Ecuador
There are no copyright laws in Ecuador (That means that Ralph Lauren shirt you bought in Ecuador is probably not real).
In Guayaquil there is a park you can visit that is full of iguanas. Locals call it Seminario Park… or Parque Seminario… It is also know as Iguana Park or Parque de Simon Bolivar.
and Did You Know:
That Ecuador was one of three countries that emerged from the collapse of The Gran Colombia in 1829 (the others are Colombia and Venezuela).
That there is an iPad users group in Cuenca. Contact Lenny at graygeek@gmail.com.
That there is a Facebook group called Ecuador Expats that have more than 1200 members. Go here and ask any question you have.
That one of the ways to establish residency in Ecuador is to deposit $25,000 into an Ecuadorian Bank. Another way is to verify that you have a monthly income that is at least $800.
There are so many Ecuador Facts that we all need to know. I will make this type of post a regular feature here.
