The sleek Amangiri resort nestled in the harsh landscape of the Utah desert may not seem like much at first glance, but its secret is that this place is all about understated luxury catering to the rich and famous seeking extreme privacy.
The complex of extravagant yet minimalist villas, owned by the Aman family of hotels (http://www.amanresorts.com/uploadedFiles/Aman/amangiri/Amangiri%20Villas%20E-brochure.pdf), sits on 600 acres in Canyon Point, Utah, in a region known as the Four Corners - just a skip and a jump for the picturesque Lake Powell.
The boxy, ultra-modern and secluded villas have been attracting the one-precenters arriving in their private jets since 2009, when the resort first opened its doors.

people pay money for some strange shit.

half of America is living in the middle of the desert right now. should we feel 'elite' ?

maybe it's the oak toilet seats.

i swam in a 25 yard pool today, and right now i'm drinking a watermelon/peach/pear/yogurt smoothie. plus, i have air-conditioning :)

yes, i could pay $5000 a day for this "privilege", but, SHIT, that would buy 240 ounces of Silver.

guess i'll just continue with my poverty-stricken lifestyle :)

You could not pay me enough to stay in the Utah desert. Of course, I'm not constantly being hounded by paparazzi so I guess I can where it would be appealing. That being said the hotel doesn't look that amazing, but some of the things you can do there seem awesome.
