someone's home just got that much closer to being beach-front property !

that happens in San Diego all the time, the sort-of-sand-stone, sort of compressed sand (sand in the process of becoming sandstone) that borders the beach, that everyone builds their homes on, collapses on someone escaping from the sun down below. when i lived in San Diego, that resulted in about 1 death a year.

"cliff collapses, lands on tourist's head" was a fairly common headline, once a year.
