Those GE Capital Bank impressions are EVERYWHERE online, and usually multiple placements on the same page. They're touting their killer 0.90% (that's right POINT 9) interest on their online savings account.

WTF is up with that??

And to get that 0.9 you have to have 20,000 on deposit.

If not...the interest rate is negative.

i have experimented with 4 different interest free accounts this last year. 3 for computers, 1 for a regular credit card

paid off 3 of them.

the only one to be a scam ? Amazon/ GE. Newegg was OK, Chase was OK, HP was OK.

so far it's costing me $1.50 a month, out of a $25 minimum payment. not too bad.

hopefully, i can find a way to put their dishonesty to good use. :)

With the real inflation rate at 7-10%, even 0.9% interest paid equals a serious loss every year in purchasing power.

To me a bank is the place where I exchange direct deposit into fiat, and that I immediately withdraw to do what I wish with (whether it be just adding it to the mattress or converting to PM's or prepping up). If I could convince my employer to pay me in cash or bullion, I wouldn't have a "bankster" account at all........
