i brought back 10 gallons of ore this year. i took along a fisher gold bug II that my lcs guy let me borrow. check out this bad boy i found in the tailings. that is 1.9 ounces of gold goodness. estimating that the gold content is at least an ounce or so.

Would shop by it in unrefined state like that?

don't know, haven't tried to sell any. ebay is full of it, but i don't really want to sell it at this point. i have a burgeoning gem shop in my office at the moment.

Did you have to dig and pick ax the ore rock out of the surrounding rock or just pick them up? IOW, did you work your ass off to get the 10 gals?

zero work required at this point. i just picked up ones up off the tailing piles that sent the fisher gold bug off the chart on the highest setting. took about 10 minutes. the one in the picture i just saw laying there. i have some other good ones as well, will post more pics soon. i have a couple of large ones with no visible gold, but they send the gold detector off the chart. might break one open today and see what is in there.

Please excuse the ignorance....I looked up NTR bars and found a company that refines and produces minted bars and coins, is that what you're referring to or is NTR something else?

I liked them too, they have some 1/10th indian head rounds that looked really cool.

what does "old milwaukee" mean ?

one of the guys at GoldRefiningForum sells his refined Gold to them, gets 97% of spot. since he knows what he's doing, i figure that must be a fair price for small-scale refiners. he buys 14K jewelry & refines it to about .995.

Leverage it at 100:1, then rehypothecate it some more.
