Recently bought and installed one on my Kahr P9. Amazed how ergonomic it is...automatically turns on when naturally gripping the pistol. Red dot easily visible at night over a block away...in bright daylight over fifty feet. Easy to install and easy to adjust. Easy to modify the DeSantis nylon pocket holster and DeSantis belt slide leather holster.
Highly recommended. (http://www.crimsontrace.com/)

Why in the FUCK would they use a RED laser!?! You can see the entire beam from beginning to end. A green laser can only be seen if looking into the output or the target. Red... wow man, not so good.

I have Crimson Trace one on my LCR (38 Special Snubbie Revolver), though the grips for it absolutely sucked and hurts like shit when you shoot it in comparison to the Hogue grips. I found a some-what solution where I got the Hogue Handall Junior Grip:

You heat it up with a hair dryer and them slide it onto the hard-as-fuck Crimson Trace grips and then cut a hole out where the laser button is.
And now it looks like this:

It did reduce the recoil in my hand, and improved the grip, but it's still got a long way to go. I wish Hogue and Crimson Trace would work together or something.
For my Glock I also have the LaserMax system, which is cool for semi-automatics since it literally turns the guide rod into the laser system. The only downside (in my opinion) is the ridiculously high price, and the fact that the laser seemed very weak and was hard to see outside during the day. The Crimson Trace laser is a LOT easier to see and I can get target acquisition with it much faster. The concept of having the laser inside the guide rod is probably the best I've seen for a semi-automatic, but the two main criticisms I had above are keeping it from being very popular/taking off in my opinion.

Make sure you take it to the range and practice. A laser is a straight line and sits about an inch and a half or two below the barrel. The bullet isn't necessarily going to end up where the laser is pointing.

Question. Why use something that gives away your position? A laser won't find something hidden in the dark, you have to be able to see something to identify the target and shoot it. If its too dark, a laser isn't gonna help you find the target. IMO, its fluff that will give your adversary an advantage to finding you. Just aim where the laser originates because you know there's a body at the end.
Positional Disclosure
When the laser sight is active, it reveals your position to anyone in the beam's path. This can be cause for concern if you're using your gun in a situation in which stealth or concealment are important.

If you need a light for target lock, then blind the f*cker with a high lumen flashlight/strobe. When SHTF, I'd rather "they" not know where I am.......

it would also be good if there was alot of people around and you needed to used your gun also . you dont want to hit someone that not your threat . dam it would be hard not to want to mark your target . it a tool like anything else you buy for a gun
