Dem Rep. Says the Tea Party Is the ‘Same Group’ of ‘White Crackers’ Who Fought to Keep Segregation Aug. 2, 2013 12:54pm Madeleine Morgenstern (http://www.theblaze.com/author/madeleine-morgenstern/)

Democratic Rep. Charlie Rangel called the Tea Party the “same group” of “white crackers” who opposed civil rights in an interview published Friday.

“It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police,” the longtime New York congressman told the Daily Beast (http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/08/02/charlie-rangel-on-immigration-pope-francis-his-successor.html). “They didn’t care about how they looked.”

Rangel said the Tea Party should be defeated the same way segregationists were ultimately beaten.

“It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break,” he said.

Rangel also had scathing words for House Republicans as a whole, accusing them of doing more damage to American competitiveness than Al-Qaeda, according to the Daily Beast.

“What is happening is sabotage. Terrorists couldn’t do a better job than the Republicans are doing,” Rangel said.
And Rangel said any “reasonable” Republicans are immediately placed in the party’s firing line.

“Chris Christie, who is a big Northeasterner, and people only go for Christie because he is reasonable. He says something nice about the president helping out Jersey and now he is on the hit list by Republicans,” Rangel said. “And now my friend Peter King is on their hit list. Peter King, a Republican, is considered a godd-mn communist.”

Wait a minute. It was the Dems who voted against the civil rights acts. It was the Repubs who voted it in. Admittedly, they just did it to piss the Dems off but still. Oh well, reality doesn't matter.

That's rich. This piece of shit doesn't even know the history of his own party and how it was mostly Democrats that fought segregation... Nothing more than a political whore with no real since of true history. Whatever the Democrat party pushes is just fine with by him.

What's even more ironic is that it was the Republican party that was formed by northern anti-slavery leaning individuals. Democrats fought that, as well as segregation. How they ever got to be the party for minority rights is completely baffling.

No this is not an endorsement of the republican party, just citing history. :)

i thought the Civil War was largely about states' rights. but then again you didn't say anything about the Civil War. :)

>> Republican party that was formed by northern anti-slavery leaning individuals

did this place them in opposition with the size-able Jewish slave-holding population ? seems like it would, though i wonder if that early Repub. party was independent of the Jews or an early example of them trying to control both sides of the conflict.

I wish the news would call him out on his racial reerences. Imagine if a white newscaster said " Its the same group of niggers... Who Fought to Keep Segregation! But then we know who controls the media and that would not fit the agenda!

Speaking of parties... WTF are you talking about? The Jews bought slaves from africa and shipped them to other Jews in america to make a profit. Where do you see any party ties or separation in that?
