We can't have the night owls leaving, someone needs to stand guard while the rest are sleeping.

Well, Mouse, I for one, appreciate your wry sense of irony. And your willingness to entertain a wide variety of serious issues--ones that others in this forum may not have either the temperament or intellect to deal with constructively. I've tried to use this forum as a sounding board for ideas about freedom, and occasionally to validate my own perceptions about human nature. What I found is that because of human nature, there are a lot of things that nobody wants to talk about. Not sure why. Could be a fear of breaking the rules of political correctness, could be shallow intellects, could be a lot of things. The net result is that the intellectual content drops to a level where it is no longer challenging to engage. And so you look for stimulation elsewhere. I think we need new members here who would raise the level of discourse--but most people are afraid they will wind up on some government shit list, so we are doomed, as the inhabitants of most other totalitarian regimes to talk only about colorless inoffensive bullshit--or suffer the slings and arrows the the ubiquitous enforcers of conformity and obedience and boredom.

Hang in, Mouse. Things change. If they don't change at the pace you like, then kick over the tables, and throw the dishes at the walls and see what happens. You can change the world by changing yourself. But you gotta be fearless to do that. Yeah, I know, it's easier and safer to take a vacation. You'll find out it's a vast prison, and a vacation won't get you out.

I take a different line here. There is only a select few that actually post to keep the board going. We are talking like only 5 people that post daily, everyday. Maybe 10, but I cannot think it could be more than that. Total of 35 folks that actually post on a regular basis. Make it 50 for most of the posters combined.

So out of 50 folks, we have a gazillion topics. Some of thread topics just don't interest me. It happens, we are all different. Some may not want to wade through 5 pages of new threads since their last visit. (We do post an amazing amount of threads even if we count the fluff.) Some may just thank a post if they don't have time to respond or add their two cents in the mix.

It's a small board. I agree with the new blood being needed, but bleeding great members is the largest issue imho.

The harping back and forth crap isn't helping much either. It isn't conducive to anything but forum destruction.

We'll keep bleeding members as long as the forum doesn't enforce the rules.

Someone has to say this.

No Trolling. Trolling is against the forum rules. This has nothing to do with "thick skin". It's why this forum is dying. Folks know what I'm talking about too, so playing ignorance is no excuse.

Personally, I care about this forum, and the members we have left. Let's not lose anymore. The admins need to step up to the plate, imo.
